Mending fences? Sounds like a good offseason workout for Fat Albert.
Fences to Mend?Zerohero 04-05-2010, 08:37 PM Mending fences? Sounds like a good offseason workout for Fat Albert. cdskins26 04-05-2010, 08:43 PM if we could trade AH for a top 40 pick or an under-28 starting-caliber lineman, i would be a very happy camper. He was certainly looked at a little differently. Give him one more year before we start calling for serious trades. Offering up Haynesworth was definately an option, but only as a measure to keep our draft picks. cdskins26 04-05-2010, 08:46 PM Mending fences? Sounds like a good offseason workout for Fat Albert. I don't know, fence mending is a whole lot of lot of work for a guy like Albert. I would count on him to show up and fix one fence, two maybe if we are lucky, but after that he decides he's done and heads home.:) celts32 04-05-2010, 09:22 PM Can someone please show me substantial evidence that.... - Haynesworth is a bust and that he did not improve the defense last season - The team has a personal issue with Haynesworth - Haynesworth is "pissed off" at the team Andy Pollin was interviewing someone earlier today and asked a question about AH, and whoever he was interviewing pretty much had a "WTF are you asking?" reaction. My evidence is the game tape of him sucking wind and laying on the ground like he was shot every 4th play. Its my opinion that he is out of shape and therefor does not work all that hard. And maybe its not fair but when your the highest paid player on the team the standards are high. I didn't say he was mad at anyone and I am not sure the team has personal problems with him either although shannys comments about the OTA's and his rumored trade offer suggest it. internetcareer 04-05-2010, 09:59 PM If you rate players solely by wins and losses, forgetting that it's a team effort, then Barry Sanders was a crappy runningback that could make highlight reels but couldn't win games, Dan Marino was a choke artist that couldn't win the big one, i can go on, but it's obviously pointless with you. 4-12 means NOTHING if you are looking at just one player. I guess you think Orakpo was a bust huh? Sure he made the pro-bowl, but 4-12 means he was obviously crap. Look, you can't lump the win-loss total as a QB statistic. It's false advertising. Thinking like that gives the wrong people credit for a win. Who won those patiot superbowls? Vinetari or Brady? How many did they win without him? Remember all those fumbles Thurman Thomas had against the Giants? Then they blamed the loss on a Scott Norwood missed fieldgoal!? Well, it was the final straw, but not all his fault, just like our 4-12 season. If you honselty thing the 4 were from the team and the 12 was from Jason Campbell, then there's no point even reading your responses anymore. Good post..and you are obviously intelligent. Which doesn't explain why you would write a slanted article which makes it seem like Jason Campbell is just waiting for a good team to show up. Fact is Jason WAS INDEED a large part of those 12 losses. A missed pass here...not moving up in the pocket in the first Giants game and allow Umehyoura to get around Samuels 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage to know the ball out and run it back for a TD when a simple move up in the pocket would have meant a completed pass for the Skins instead of a td for the Giants. Jason is not a great QB and he will be a backup for the rest of his life, regardless if somebody starts him for a game or 2. Sometimes it blows my mind when people defend Jason Campbell to the extent that we should have started him/kept draft picks over having THE DONOVAN MCNABB?? Do you guys not remember Jason Campbell throughout the season? He was horrible! He'd complete his passes when it didn't matter and I'd flick the channel when it was 3rd and 10, the chances of him making that were about as likely as me starting for the Colts next season. He has much more lowlights than highs, and really just couldn't pull the trigger at any point this season or the last. It's incorrect to factor in us keeping him because he still has "potential".. If he's going to go become a good QB on another team, then go do that right now and thanks for the very few games that you made us all happy about Jason! Longtimefan 04-05-2010, 10:18 PM Once again, please someone tell me where Haynesworth has said something? All he has said is that he'd prefer to play DE in the 3-4, but he will play whatever they have him play on defense (which I find it odd that people here who always quote the "square peg in round hole" cliche would disagree). Haynesworth was here for the first day of "voluntary" workouts, and just as with some other players, he decided not to participate and told the team that he would workout on his own ahead of time. Shanahan, being no pushover of course said that he was disappointed, but he also said that he respected AH's decision. I still don't see any drama here, and honestly people are just blowing things out of proportion. I recall the situation when Springs wasn't showing up for OTAs and Gibbs telling the press that he couldn't even get in touch with him and teammates like Phillip Daniel calling Springs out. Granted, that Springs wasn't given 41 mil guaranteed, but still people act like Haynesworth ran out of Redskins Park yelling and screaming. I think the team should be careful how they state themselves in reference to Haynesworth choosing not to participate in the team off-season conditioning program at the park. To think he could face some form of retalliation by way of threatning to trade him for not doing so could draw the ire of the players union. Those workout's are strictly voluntary, and to indirectly threaten a player for not attending is contrary to rule governing those activities. Mechanix544 04-05-2010, 11:08 PM THis squad, or the coaching staff owes absolutely NOTHING to HAynesworth. BUt I will go so far as to say this. For the compensation that he has gotten from the owner thus far, and looking at his production and lack of commitment and inspiration, he needs to get his fat ass in gear, or this FO will ship him the fuck out, regardless if the union sticks their noses in the business. Shanny will just say that there were other factors, laziness, and he didnt fit in their plans for the defensive schemes they are switching to. Easy to get by that, and I am sure Haslett and Shanny are not looking over their shoulders at the big bad players union (gimme a break) when they are wheeling and dealing A.H to possible suitors. Simple fact is, A.H. owes THIS FRANCHISE something, not the other way around. He is already late on his payment, so he needs to (pardon the expression) cowboy the eff up and kick some ass, or he WILL be out of here. I want him to be here. I want him to be good. Lets move forward together, or he can move back, back to effin tenessee for all we care. diehardskin2982 04-05-2010, 11:08 PM I honestly hope both players stay on the skins. Especially Albert Haynesworth. AH followed the redskins offseason plan last year and we saw what those results got him. I do wonder why was this info leaked about their names in particular? Noone knew about McNabb comming to Washington until it happened. Are they trying to send a message to Landry and AH? Once again, I don't get this whole fabricated drama with Haynesworth. As many have said before, he's owning up to the lackluster (if you want to call it like that) season and getting ready for this season. |
