SmootSmack 04-06-2010, 09:04 AM Well, now I'm really interested. I'd like to see either of these guys end up in Washington, regardless of what happens with Okung. I also don't think it would be the end of the world if Bulaga or Williams were the pick, but I'd take Bushrod and a 2, put him at RT and start the rookie at LT.
What I've heard is something like Rogers for Brown, or Rogers and I think Montgomery for Bushrod and a 3rd or 4th. I think Haynesworth is just an internet rumor
and landry and kelly for brandon marshall

sometimes the font just isn't small enough, huh? trading for brandon marshall was one of the first things i thought we'd do after signing mcnabb, although i think it would require more than landry and kelly to get marshall. not sure id want to give up more for him than that, though. the idea of having marshall and thomas on the outside with tana in the slot is pretty sick, though. anything out there about trading one of our TEs?
thanks for posting brown and bushrod's player profiles. is there a reason neither of them show up on the teams roster page on nfl.com? (thats where i looked) also, how would either of them do in shanahan's scheme? personally, id rather do rogers and monty for bushrod and a 3rd/4th. he's younger and i'd love to have the 3rd or 4th.

If we traded Phat Albert for a quality Left Tackle I would be absolutely thrilled. And if a draft pick got thrown in too...wow this offseason just gets better and better

I'd actually do pretty much any of those in a heartbeat. Rogers for Brown or Rogers and Montgomery for Bushrod and a pick definitely makes both teams better. I'd be excited as both a Skins and Saints fan over either of those.
I will say that I'd rather not give up Landry and Kelly for Marshall because I think that it's selling low on two guys who could really have a resurgence/impact with the new regime, but I wouldn't hate the deal either.
I'm taking a "wait and see" approach with everything Shanahallen is doing right now, but I'd be encouraged if they can get Okung at 4 or trade back and get a pick in 2-4 range and still get Bulaga/Williams and trade Rogers & Montgomery for Bushrod (who I think would be a very good RT) and a pick.

I'd be extremely happy with that. Get Mccoy or Suh with the 4th pick to replace Albert and quality left tackle plus a 2nd round pick! I'd love that.

skinsfan69 04-06-2010, 10:17 AM Once again, please someone tell me where Haynesworth has said something?
All he has said is that he'd prefer to play DE in the 3-4, but he will play whatever they have him play on defense (which I find it odd that people here who always quote the "square peg in round hole" cliche would disagree).
Haynesworth was here for the first day of "voluntary" workouts, and just as with some other players, he decided not to participate and told the team that he would workout on his own ahead of time. Shanahan, being no pushover of course said that he was disappointed, but he also said that he respected AH's decision.
I still don't see any drama here, and honestly people are just blowing things out of proportion. I recall the situation when Springs wasn't showing up for OTAs and Gibbs telling the press that he couldn't even get in touch with him and teammates like Phillip Daniel calling Springs out. Granted, that Springs wasn't given 41 mil guaranteed, but still people act like Haynesworth ran out of Redskins Park yelling and screaming.
Let's just see where Al is when training camp starts. Last year is over with. But I don't want to see him crying about where they're going to play him when the season starts. You're getting 40 mil so do what the coaches tell you to do and be in tip top shape.
BigHairedAristocrat 04-06-2010, 11:20 AM i dont care whether Haynesworth is a problem here or not - i'd rather have a young, quality left tackle to protect mcnabb than have haynesworth play 3-4 NT or RDE 60% of our defensive snaps. we've switched to a 3-4 defense, which he doesnt really fit, and we just traded for a QB - and that trade will be for nothing if he's not protected.
Dirtbag59 04-06-2010, 02:02 PM My only problem with getting rid of Haynesworth is due to the fact that Shanahan has had trouble with defense for a while now. I figured that getting Haynesworth would at least provide a high floor. Man Rolando McClain would be perfect for this team though but it sounds like we're not getting a first round pick.

could be because they're RFA's.. they usually separate those out.. not sure about on NFL.com but on the team pages, wiki, etc
SFREDSKIN 04-06-2010, 02:24 PM Fences to mend? The only fence to mend is shipping that "fat fuck" out of town. What a waste of money (once again).
