So is PJ5.
Not only does Colt lose his number, but he's likely lost his roster spot too. A double punch to the gut for the Cult of Colters.

The Redskins really have the upper hand here. While it's true they want to get rid of Campbell, on the other hand they don't have to. The world knows #5 will be under center come opening day. It's not big secret. They could be patient, let draft day roll around, and let some desperate team ante up a second rounder for JC.
I think they're going to --or should-- milk this one.

Well remember what happened before when Jason told his agent to ask for a trade if the redskins drafted a QB with their top pick (I think it was before the 09 off-season). I think the same thing applies here.
He knows neither the fans or team wants him now, obviously (but sad). I would try and go wherever i could get a chance to start...if not, there's a real chance he could go the way of other first round busts and be out of the league within a season or two...

I don't even know why this is a discussion topic. He is going, going, GONE!
1. Forget about a QB competition - McNabb is the starter.
2. JC probably can't wait to get out of D.C.
3. Keeping JC around is a constant reminder of the bad old days in D.C.
4. A draft pick - even a third round pick - is worth more to the Skins than JC is at this point.
5. The decent thing to do is to trade JC to a team where he has a chance to be the starter. He is a good person and he deserves it.

I have a bad feeling we'll be stuck with Campbell, McNabb and still draft a QB! It's the same illogic they used to sign Johnson and Parker while having Portis. Senseless.

Yes, McNabb is better than Kolb right now. In a year or two, Kolb likely will still be playing, whereas McNabb will be out of the league without a SB ring. Campbell has to be traded for a pick or trade out of the 4th overall spot. This team isn't getting any younger! I just don't like the core makeup of this team or it's unclear direction. I understand turning over a roster to get younger, perhaps better while staying competitive. A lot has to be seen to bellieve.

Plus you know Shanny wants to draft a developmental QB for the #3 slot. JC is gone.
I hope we draft all o-line this year and take Jake Locker next year as our QB of the future.

If we can trade JC for a 3rd round pick, we have essentially pulled off the best move in the offseason by not only vastly improving our QB group with McNabb and Grossman, but done so by just moving back a round in the draft this year and giving up a mid round pick next year.
What I like the most is we will be picking a Tackle with our first pick, a safer pick who can improve the Oline immediately.

The problem here is JC doesn't really have any value. No one wanted him last year so what's changed? Might be better off keeping him and letting him back up DM.
