I said this in the other Donovan McNabb thread...lol! Does this mean I can take credit (or the heat) for DM coming to Washington? ;)

Pocket$ $traight 04-05-2010, 11:19 AM Good question...do we pay for a new contract? We better after giving up a 2nd-rounder. If no cap...no problem...if anyone can afford him, it's us. It is virtually a lock that our cap number is over 200 million this year!! lol Defensewins 04-05-2010, 11:20 AM Mark Schlreth said something that I was thinking as well....John Elway did not win a SB until he got a consistent running game behind him and a good defense. In Philly under Reid/McNabb they were very one dimensional. Very little to no running game. That is a lot of pressure to put on a QB when defenses can cheat to defending the pass and not worry about the run. If Shanahan can create an effective running game behind McNabb it could be a very good situation for all Redskinsland. CultBrennan59 04-05-2010, 11:21 AM ^ we had 30 million in cap space after we cut those 10 players Pocket$ $traight 04-05-2010, 11:22 AM So who do we trade for in a year or two? Romo? Won't be available. Osackpo is going to end his career by then. Monkeydad 04-05-2010, 11:25 AM Thats EXACTLY my point! Only so many positions that we can fill through the draft and now, we throw away even more of those positions for an old man that is not going to do much better than a guy we already have. And about Vinny..........................I just know it. I know he had something to do with this deal. He's back, I know he is. Because this deal has Vinny Cerato's sig on it. Your first paragraph I can agree with, very reasonable. Your Vinny conspiracy theory is just nutty. He's gone. Allen would never allow him to influence anything. Pocket$ $traight 04-05-2010, 11:25 AM ^ we had 30 million in cap space after we cut those 10 players I may be off a little but after cutting all of those players and accelerating Haynesworth and Hall's deals we were sitting on a cap number of $179 million. McNabb's contract in the current form is another 11 million.
