McNabb a REDSKIN!

I wonder how much Brett Favre and Kurt Warner being very productive late in their careers influenced this move. You have to think, McNabb is 33 years old. No, he's no spring chicken, but he has more than enough gas in the tank. If we can draft a top flight QB in the next year or two, make a playoff run in the meantime, this move was well worth it.

In the end I think Philly did a poor job on the communications end when trade rumors started to swirl a few weeks ago. The longer it dragged on, the viable options started to dwindle and they were in a PR pickle. There's no way in hell the Redskins were on the radar when this all started. I feel like we lucked up big time on this one.

What if McNabb is coming in to further help develop JC as the 'Skins QB? They're both allegedly good friends and stranger things have happened. Now, back to my meth lab...

I think it's safe to say whenever we do make our first pick in this upcoming draft it's obviously going to be a quarterback or a running back.

I just can't wait to invent a time machine. This team is going to be awesome with McNabb, Larry Johnson, Clinton Portis, Santana, Moss, and Willie Parker reverting back to their 2005 forms.

Sure you're not pushing acid? Everyone knows meth makes you smart.

What the hell is a spring chicken? And no don't tell me to google it because I would rather have you, my fellow forum members bring me the answer.

A special on Comcast Sports right now on the trade (if you're in the DC/MD/No.Va. area).

You've never heard the term spring chicken?

How Can You Guys Be Loving This??

If it truly involves us losing a 2nd rounder, it wreaks of Dan Snyder so badly. McNabb is aging and hardly more than a pocket passer anymore, and he is very very very streaky with his accuracy.
And some of you think were getting a deal if we trade 1st rounders as well as our 2nd???
THIS IS AWFUL!

Dan Snyder had nothing to do with this move.

Let's see, I seem to remember Shanahan joining a team who had a veteran star QB who knocked on the door several times but couldn't quite take the next step. What happened with that team?

for a 1 year loaner with minimally better stats(my opinion only), we gave up the 37th pick and a 4th next year. McNabb is what he is, but what good does he do us when he goes to the Vikings, or whereever. In the end he will be a minor improvement over JC and we will have given up 2 useful picks. But what's done is done. C'est la guerre. You can't look at it that way. What we've done is immediately improved our QB situation and given ourselves MAJOR bargaining options. We can always renegotiate McNabb's contract for another 3 years if we want to keep him, trade him if not.

McNabb is a major improvement over JC. Just look at the TD% vs. INT % stats, his mobility and pocket presence is much better than JCs. His running game has been non-existent and prior to last year his receiving corps has been below average. He's also a well respected veteran QB.

If the stats I quoted, along with McNabb's Pro Bowls and playoff success aren't enough for you to admit he's a huge upgrade over Campbell then there's nothing that will change your mind.

I think you've gone way overboard on supporting JC, but to seriously believe McNabb isn't a huge upgrade.....c'mon. You've got to look at more than just completion %.

I just hope people are not clinging to years past and are actually looking at what he can provide now.
