diehard 04-04-2010, 11:10 PM Fire shanahan and allen! Then sell the team snyder! luke4twenty 04-04-2010, 11:11 PM Skins now have options, especially if Bradford slips, to pick up other draft picks, if not Okung to protect him. Also, even if no salary cap, there will be cuts in the summer of people owed bonus and from teams who drafted players, we could still pick up some good OL to help protect. Santana, Devin, CC, Davis are much better than anything the Eagles have offered him in years. NM Redskin 04-04-2010, 11:11 PM I think we can expect the Eagle game in Philly will be a primetime Sunday/Monday night game. Oooo la la 12thMan 04-04-2010, 11:11 PM From DHall via Comcast: Says he's ecstatic. Feels we've addressed a couple of needs....at QB, now we still have a pick to address the offensive line. Feels like the team can compete for the playoffs and even the Super Bowl. On Campbell: Says he's grown to like Campbell, but this makes McNabb the starter and feels like McNabb has a couple of years left in him. How Good Is McNabb: Thinks he can still move and has a great arm, can keep plays alive. Feels like he has a good 3 or 4 years left, if not more. Thinks McNabb can still get it done. Team Overall: Johnson, Willie Parker, Clinton Portis..."say's we're getting better, I'm smiling, I'm just excited man, we're getting quality football players, guys that know about the game. I'm excited." Gmanc711 04-04-2010, 11:11 PM The one thing I wonder ,if you think this will open up the #4 pick for possible trades... do you think now that we wont be drafting a quarterback (i'd have to think), that more teams will be looking to trade up if they want a QB? You'd have to think that Seattle, Cleveland and even maybe Oakland could possibly draft a QB so maybe a team will trade up with us to try to grab Clausen? right21arm 04-04-2010, 11:12 PM voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/ lol whatever just sit back and wait for opening day. crack a beer because we're not even halfway thru this choose your own adventure offseason story. Ruhskins 04-04-2010, 11:13 PM This is interesting (from Twitter)... PaulTenorio RT @SI_RossTucker 2 notes from Schefter on Sirius: McNabb "handpicked" Skins and there has been "zero discussion" of new contract thus far. less than a minute ago via web GTripp0012 04-04-2010, 11:13 PM Yup. Cerrato trades high draft pick(s) for a big name vet past his prime, and he's the biggest moron in the NFL!! Allen/Shanny trade a high draft pick for a big name vet past his prime and people rejoice?? I'll never understand our fan base. Sure, this is for a QB (something we've needed forever), but the fact remains we have many other pressing needs, and now only 4 draft picks to address them. The Patriots have three times that many by the way. The best teams in this league build through the draft. I've been "wait and see" on Allen/Shanny since day one. That fact remains. Big time.Actually, Cerrato traded a second round pick for Jason Taylor, and a majority of people rejoiced. If this end of the interwebs was any indication, it was the exact same voices as well. There was more ambiguity in the Jason Taylor trade, like maybe we were going to use him creatively in a way that the Dolphins hadn't (sorry to remind you). Here, we have to wonder what the heck Shanahan knows about extending McNabb's career that Andy Reid didn't. Because if this is a battle of understanding quarterbacks, I'm jumping ship on Shanahan. He's going to get crushed if it's just his assessment of a player against Reid's. There's got to be more here, I would think. NM Redskin 04-04-2010, 11:14 PM The one thing I wonder ,if you think this will open up the #4 pick for possible trades... do you think now that we wont be drafting a quarterback (i'd have to think), that more teams will be looking to trade up if they want a QB? You'd have to think that Seattle, Cleveland and even maybe Oakland could possibly draft a QB so maybe a team will trade up with us to try to grab Clausen? I would hope the staff thinks we can trade down, still bet a quality LT and pick up a second. Maybe then maybe draft a Tebow/McCoy. The idea of Tebow learning under McNabb is intriguing. luke4twenty 04-04-2010, 11:14 PM The one thing I wonder ,if you think this will open up the #4 pick for possible trades... do you think now that we wont be drafting a quarterback (i'd have to think), that more teams will be looking to trade up if they want a QB? Yeah, I would say, plus JC is now a chip, maybe for a mid-rounder. |
