I don't know.. by stats he's 2nd, including the advanced type of stats that you like.. until you say that stats don't matter then back it up with stats :silly:In 2009 DVOA, Romo was 7th, Eli was 11th, Kolb (who barely qualified) was 16th, and McNabb was 20th. Campbell was 25th.
We could argue all day whether McNabb or Kolb is the better 2010 QB, but the team that had them both thinks Kolb is. We think McNabb is.

I hate this. I live in Eagles country and now they are talking about how good McNabb is. Here is why I think it's good.
1) This guarantees us Russel Okung to come and protect him. We now have a reason to build a draft around an offensive line.
2) The Eagles will be MISERABLE should McNabb beat them next season, and this rivalry flares up.
3) McNabb will be helpful for our receivers to develop at this point by giving them a better offense.
4) We have now have (assuming we bulk up our O-Line now): A top 10 defense, an experienced QB who has a whole lot of motivation, 3 running backs capable of starting, and a group of receivers who are unproven with a lot of potential.
5) Campbell has to be on his way out sometime soon, and hopefully we swing a few draft picks in the process.
6) (and most importantly) There is a reason Shannahan pulled this move. He must think that if he can patch up a few more holes in the offense, that this team has a chance to win NOW. He is now planning to completely re-build in maybe a year or two.

hmmm wonder if we are cosidering trading him to the Rams and work a deal for the #1 pick? could this be a possiblility
Well they don't like the fact he's been traded within the divsion. And for every person that hated McNabb, there were probably two or three that loved him.
Also, I'm hearing that the timing of this move may have been a PR one to grab the headline from the Phillies, who by the way, open in D.C. tomorrow.
The few Philly fans I know like McNabb. I think there's this notion that all Philly fans hate him but that's definitely been way overblown in the media.

i think we will try to trade down now personally. the draft is deep for o-linemen and if we could move down 5-10 spots we could still get a top quality tackle. dont rule out a qb though to groom behind mcnabb.

Any insight into whether mcnabb is a good fit in shanny's offense?
Also, perhaps it is easier to transition between offenses with a vet at the helm, so that next year, mcnabb will be able to tutor whoever we draft at QB (ryan mallett anyone?). Hope we get something good in exchange for JC when we deal him

You'll know soon enough when we give him a contract extension.
yeah.. he can still retire or get hurt before it's over though

MS runs his version of the west coast so it shouldn't be a huge transition at all.

Totally overblown. The media likes to feed the perception that Philly fans hate their stars and drive them out of town. I don't think this was the case here at all.
ESPN is buzzing big time over this.

Check his numbers he hasn't missed significant time in a season since 2006.
Missed 2 games in 09
Missed 2 games in 07
Missed 6 games in 06
Missed 7 games in 05
17 games in 5 Years? That's not a healthy QB. Gotta figure in the time he was attempting to play through injuries like his rib/abdominal issues.
Many of these years he was playing behind a FAR better line than what we can offer here.
Still not thinking he's worth a HIGH 2nd and a 3rd/4th. Sorry.
