Justin Medlock as well, beginning of Feb

Matty has a personal beef with him apparently :laughing-

It's possible also that Parker or LJ won't make it past training camp, though I'd be surprised

Anyone up now for trading Orakpo and a second round pick for a disgruntled running back?

Who knows? Maybe Portis ends up being the odd man out.

Anyway Redskins now have 3 of the top 10 rushers since 2004. Portis 4th, Johnson 5th, Parker 10th.

Yeah I'd have to imagine it'd take an injury or just abysmal performance. All 3 of them have something to prove and now Alridge has to really fight to be involved. Should be one hell of a competition.

Parker's agent: 'It's flat out an open competition' at RB

Apparently, Clinton Portis really will have to fight to keep his job.

That seemed clear Friday after the Redskins signed running back Willie Parker, adding another Pro Bowl runner to a backfield that already included Portis and the recently signed Larry Johnson. Parker signed an incentive-laded one-year contract worth as much as $3.1 million, league sources said.

Portis is guaranteed $6.4 million this season, but Coach Mike Shanahan has made it clear every job on the roster is open. So with the addition of Johnson and Parker, the battle in the backfield is on.

"It's flat out an open competition," said Parker's agent, Doug Hendrickson. "That's what they told Willlie. It's a flat-out open competition as to who's going to play and who's going to start. They said that's the way it's going to be."

I think it's more possible in Parker's case than LJ though.

What? When has this ever been mentioned?

Or is this a play on the Portis-Bailey trade? If so I'm still not quite sure the point.

I still say a healthy and conditioned Portis is the best out of the 3 but they've all got their work cut out for them. This is some real head to head competition right here.
