Report: Eagles looking to move up to 4th pick (http://theredzone.org/BlogDescription.aspx?EntryId=5621)

Michael Smith of ESPN reports via Twitter he keeps hearing Eagles wanna go way up to the fourth pick in the draft.

The presumed target would be safety Eric Berry of Tennesse

Yeah i keep hearing they want to move up - would be great for us and both teams have worked together this offseason before. however, i've read they are interested in the other safety, earl thomas. they wouldnt have to move up nearly as high for him.

Just to speculate, if the teams tried to adhere somewhat to the draft value chart, our #4 is worth 1800 points. The Eagles currently hold #24 (740pts), #37 (530pts), #55 (350pts), #70 (240pts), and #87 (155pts) in rounds 1-3.

For the If the Eagles gave up their #24, $37, #55, and #70, it would equal 1860 points. I suppose we could give them our 4th round pick, but it would still be a deal that seemed to heavily slide in our favor. Phily loves having alot of picks in the top 100. I just don't see the Eagles giving up enough to make the deal go through, unless we are really desperate to get the deal done and agree to just take their 1st three picks or something. i know the draft is deep and we have multiple needs, but im not sure we'd get a 2010 starter out of our draft class in that scenario.

I don't expect Bruce Allen to require anywhere near the 1800 for a trade. Doesn't mean it will happen, just that he basically begged teams to make an offer, any offer, the phone line is open NOW!

Lol, remember earlier in the offseason when we suggested drafting LeFevour in the second round? Yeah, WTF were we thinking?

Interesting, I keep hearing they want to go to 11 to get Earl Thomas (and the Browns are looking at #4 for Berry)

Whoever wants Berry needs to move ahead of KC at 5, which puts us in a good spot

Another rumor floating out there has AH, Landry and the #4 for the #1. Don't believe it

If this happens, I'm going to throw my beer at the TV.

That makes sense, but earlier this week, Allen publically stated that moving out of the #4 spot would be hard and that it would be unlikely to happen. today, i've read that we want to trade down really badly but no one's interested. one would think that if we did have even one or two teams interested in trading up to 4 that we would be putting the word out that we've gotten offers, in hopes of driving up the price.

I'd drop down 3 spots and deal with the browns in a heartbeat - we'd probably pick up 2 of their 3 third rounders (maybe sending them a 5th since its the threndy thing to do right now) and still land Trent Williams. Perhaps we could even trade down from 7 with someone who'd want to jump ahead of Oakland and Buffalo and nab Clausen.

I wonder though, if Tampa Bay takes Berry at 3, would anyone trade up with us to nab McCoy?

its obviously not exact science, but i think it has value as a starting point in negotiations. I dont think it would be worth our while to trade down 20 spots (Eagles) for anything less than both of their 2nd rounders.

I'm more scared at the possible run on the tackles in the first round. Unless we get Jamaal Brown I don't want any part of a trade down with anyone besides maybe the Seahawks trading up to get Berry.

How dare they have Brian Baldinger reporting from Redskins Park after he labeled McNabb as the most overrated QB in NFL history?!
