because with JC you know what you're getting so he may not be worth another teams pick, with Whitehurst they may see potential beyond a QB they could get in the 3rd. i do think JC is worth a 2nd/3rd round pick but to other teams he may not be.
Yeah you can give him the grade of being that level.. but the guy you're drafting is 6 or 7 years younger.

Anyway enough talk, lets watch. The good news about Gaither on film is the fact that he isn't hard to find.

its all based on the teams value of him and if they think the QBs available in the 2nd/3rd round this year (Colt, Tebow, etc.) will be better than JC in years coming. if they don't think those players will eventually be better than JC then age doesn't matter much.

damn that run around 1:15 vs Steelers was sick.. same for the next one vs Bengals

would've liked to have seen some 2nd level blocking examples but I know that's not really the Ravens' style

Well you've got longer to figure that out as you still wouldn't know if JC is that guy that you can rely on. If they both end up backups why not have one that'll play 5 years or so longer and be worth more when it comes to a potential trade in a few years.

btw welcome to the warpath

all i'm saying is if a team thinks JC is the immediate answer then i think they may give a 3rd for him.

I think I'd rather have one year of JC than a 3rd round pick in this draft. It's close though. I like holding the option of offering him an extension if he exceeds all of our expectations, but I think I'd be willing to pull the trigger if someone offered a second rounder for Campbell, and just go with Colt McCoy as a rookie at QB.
