Or how bout using the 2nd for the Rams LT -Barron- that they drafted in the first last yr? they have a 2nd round tender on him. I don't think he's anything more than a right tackle who false starts a lot, but we don't have a player like that and even if we spend the first round choice on Okung, we still won't have a player like that. So while Gaither is probably both a better player and a better value, if we're set on going QB with that second round pick, Barron is a nice pickup for a cheap draft choice.

I wouldn't extend him though until he gets a chance to fit into this scheme.

I don't think that Barron is much better than Heyer, if any. I'd just assume keep him or draft somebody at the 4th or later. Barron is known to hold quite a bit as well.
