Aside from bringing your A game you also get two weeks to gameplan. Though a big part of the reason for New Orleans winning was their ability to keep the ball out of Mannings hands for around 70 minutes. The interception (from the below average pass defense) didn't hurt either. tryfuhl 03-26-2010, 01:06 AM Did you know Betts is off the team? the lack of mentioning is why he's impressed ;) 53Fan 03-26-2010, 01:17 AM I am very impressed with this forum. Welcome to The Warpath McD5. On the subject of Champ Bailey, if I remember right, SmootSmack or someone has mentioned before that Champ wanted out of town. Something to do with a woman. McD5 03-26-2010, 01:18 AM Did you know Betts is off the team? Of course. But he has been one of my favorite Redskins for a long, long time. I like what he represented. I like the fact that his salary was low. I like his ability to catch passes, and even return kicks. In a decade consisting mostly of pain, he was extremely easy to cheer for. McD5 03-26-2010, 01:22 AM Welcome to The Warpath McD5. On the subject of Champ Bailey, if I remember right, SmootSmack or someone has mentioned before that Champ wanted out of town. Something to do with a woman. Thank you very much. I love this place so far. The layout is great, the features and avatars are impressive. But most importantly, the users seem to be extremely high in quality from what I have seen. I am very impressed. And yes, the rumor was that he had an affair, and his wife insisted on leaving Washington. If he stayed, she was leaving him. We still got raped, trading a ten time pro-bowler for a one time pro-bowler. And the second rounder on top of it--although it didn't amount to much for Denver, was insult to injury. He was underutilized and was pretty effective when he was given the chance to start. McD5 03-26-2010, 01:28 AM I can't argue with that. He was underutilized and was pretty effective when he was given the chance to start. It sucks that he got the injury bug. But man, I loved that guy as a team player. I was praying that we would have traded Portis away years ago, after Betts lit it up for 1,100 in half a season. Not a popular suggestion at the time, but I still feel that it could have set us up big. Portis for a Boldin or a lineman? I would have given anything for that. 53Fan 03-26-2010, 01:28 AM Thank you very much. I love this place so far. The layout is great, the features and avatars are impressive. I agree and at the time was upset that Betts wasn't being given a chance. I thought Betts was going to be really good and didn't really know much about Portis. Portis was always a workhorse. But the entire philosophy of featuring one back no longer works in this league. It hasn't for a decade now. I just wish that our coaches would have understood that, and would have pulled off a mini Herschel Walker type of trade with Portis years ago. Chris Johnson runs for 2,000. Who cares? How did his team do in the playoffs? Maurice Jones-Drew? He is great. It still didn't translate to playoffs. How far did LJ take Kansas City all of those 300 carry years? Betts, had he stayed healthy, was more than sufficient in my humble opinion. Anyway, my gf is going crazy about me being on the Redskins site this late at night. LOL. I look forward to talking with all of you over the coming days. This is a great site you have here. Have a great night everyone. |
