I don't think where you have camp is nearly as important as the work that you do, regardless of where you are.

SmootSmack 03-25-2010, 11:18 AM As much as everyone says Snyder cares about winning, he is ignoring the fact that having camp in Ashburn does little to bond a team. This is at least part of the reason that the Skins have been mediocre for Snyder's entire tenure. I kind of see your point, but at the same time I don't really understand that argument. The Patriots hold training camp basically next door to Gillette Stadium, the Eagles hold training camp just an hour outside of Philly at Lehigh U., Steelers hold training camp less than an hour outside of Pittsburgh. Doesn't seem to affect those teams much celts32 03-25-2010, 11:28 AM I kind of see your point, but at the same time I don't really understand that argument. I guess the Pats make your point though that you can stay home and still be good. tryfuhl 03-25-2010, 12:21 PM Eagles and Steelers are still away together at a college though...if the skins went to a college an hour from DC that would still be an improvement from the Ashburn circus. I still believe in going to a college and roughing it in a dorm room with less distractions. And the Redskins are not really in DC...technically they should be going an hour from Ashburn to get away. Carlisle was perfect becasue it was not that far from DC but it was far enough that it was not Redskins country anymore so they had minimal distractions. Some days got crowded at the field when there were bus trips scheduled from DC but for the most part the town itself gave them thier space. |
