No doubt about it. The Patriots now have 12 picks in this year's draft. TWELVE. Between this year and next year, they have 7, count 'em, 7 picks in the first 2 rounds. Unreal. At the precise moment when they have lost too many accomplished vets to be a real contender, they are set up to have a massive influx of serious young talent. IMO they are the benchmark of how to manage personnel. In the same vein, with Pioli now in KC, don't be surprised to see that team become the bell cow in AFC West in the not too distant future (especially if Matt Cassell continues to improve.Starting to think that Pioli's contributions in New England were limited to having access to Peter King/glowing media profiles.

The Patriots Didnt lose anyone of importance ,and didnt sign any good UNrestriced free agents. The players they got were either relesed from another team or traded to them . I belive they look for thouse player so that they can always come away with some comp picks. And the vaule of the contracts that the lost free agents sign detrimes the pick. Like the bengals get a 3rd and 4th because of the contracts that TJ house and Stacy Andrews got.
