This is good to hear. I was thinking we were missing a great oppurtunity to use this uncapped year.

So does this pave the way to take Suh/McCoy at #4 assuming one of them is there and Bradford and/or Okung are not? Because all this time I've been thinking, and I kind of still do, there's no point really in taking either of those guys. But now...makes you wonder

Am I incorrect in thinking Suh/McCoy would be square pegs in a round hole for the 3-4? I think AH will fit well (and actually like) a 3-4 DE. It's being an NT that really seems to upset/not fit Haynesworth.

Smoot -- any thoughts on if Mt. Cody will still be around in the 2nd round for us? He'd be a great 1-2 punch with Keamantu to rotate NTs.

Even if we still have Haynesworth, if McCoy or Suh are there at 4 we should only consider two options:

1) Trading down (we'll have tons of suitors)
2) Drafting Suh or McCoy

Anything else would require reaching too far to fill a need IMO.

So i have a hypothetical situation for everyone. Lets say

where the Rams took Bradford, the Lions took Okung, and a team (perhaps Buffalo), fearing that we'd take Clausen, traded with Tampa Bay to draft the increasingly overrated QB. With both Suh and McCoy on the board, we might not end up with any offers to trade down and we'd be stuck at 4.

Who would you draft?

Damn I was waiting to hear about the Redskins doing something like this. I don't care what anyone says, they Redskins are by far the best at managing the cap. Now we should have tons of cap room if the cap ever does come back.

I would say we certainly aren't pigeonholed into a pick now. That being said, we will probably take the safety... ;-)

Yeah I think he'll be there, and if we traded down in the first we could also possibly look at Dan Williams. I don't know that I would but it's possible

Are the options just Suh and McCoy in your question?

Great stuff there. On a side note, I'm still baffled at how much money D'Angelo Hall has been paid since he's been in the league.

Effing genius. What a great read!

Can we trade Haynesworth tomorrow?
