1 (4) Russel Okung, OT OK State
2 (37) Rodger Safford, OT Indiana
4 (100) Eric Norwood, OLB South Carolina
5 (131) Eric Olsen, C Notre Dame
7 (195) Chris Maragos, FS Wisconsin

This.

My thinking is we NEED big upgrades at both o tackle positions (some might argue we simply need legitimate OTs and I tend to fall in w/ this crowd...Heyer should not be starting in the NFL). So while it's tempting to take a NT w/ our first or second pick it just isn't necessary to be competitive on defense. In fact it's pretty easy to argue we'll be just as effective staying in the 4-3 base as we'll be dicking around w/ Haslett's hybrid. We've got guys to play DT in the 4-3 right now while we're currently boasting 1/3 of a NT between the lazy guy and the hurt one.

That said cutting Griff was pretty premature IMHO. He was easily the most dominant DT aside from Albert and if circumstances are such we stick w/ the 4-3 he will be sorely missed. I personally would have dumped Monty before Griff.

Thanks.

Check out Eric Norwood's scouting reports, he'd be PERFECT for a 3-4 transition, he's been called the best 3-4 LB in the draft but isn't being predicted to go very high...around a 4-5th rounder. He'd be a great value there. I think Olsen would be an upgrade over Rabach as well. Those two tackles could be huge if picked.

Can we draft him just for comedy's sake? LOL.

If he wore #69 for us, I'd buy a Wang jersey.

^ do you all think he could actually be a starting RT for us this year? I highly doubt he'll ever be a starting RT. If he makes it though, I think he'll be the only current asian player in the nfl, that'd be cool.

Wang will most likely not start for anybody his rookie year. He's a fairly athletic guy (former TE) who's got good feet, but his technique needs work. He got a lot of holding calls, seems to get off balance w/quick or strong rushers.

I would think though in a zone scheme he would be a good fit & if he works on strength & technique can eventually start. to his credit, I think he started to put together a solid game his sr. year. It's always a good sign when you see players improve in college, might mean he's got room for more.

2 (37) Florida QB Tim Tebow
4 (100) Iowa OT Kyle Calloway
5 (131) North Carolina State C Ted Larsen

Micah Johnson has fallen from last year but I would love to be able to get him with a lower pick. Good call BHA. He's very good at getting off the block and making the play.
