PASS THE RULE!So if Cooley made a stud play like Witten did against Philly, you would still be fine with the refs blowing it dead???

Here's another hypothetical:
Adrian Peterson rams helmets with a random FS, and he fumbles the football AND loses his helmet at the same time. What's a ref to do?

Do-over? :pffff:

PASS THE RULE!

Yes, because losing helmets is part of the Cowboys normal game plan...they do it on every crucial play to distract the defense.

I'm for the overtime rule. It's innovative, gives both teams a fair opportunity to win. A high percentage of the time, the team that wins the coin flip, wins the overtime. A coin flip should not decide a game.

I'm against the helmet rule. The rules committee has gone too far to water down the sport. Football is a gladiator sport. There are too many rules that take away the physical aspect of football. If they want a no contact sport, then give the guys flags and lets play flag football. Deacon Jones is probably rolling over in his grave, you can't club a quarterback in the head. Jack Tatum cannot believe that you can no longer clothes line a guy or bump and run. What a pussy sport!

Probably not since he's still alive.

Head slaps and clotheslines would get guys killed these days.

The sport is physical and dangerous enough as it is, for those saying that it's become watered down or sissifed, I would love to you see guys step on the field for even one play.

Funny you mention that because just two days ago I was watching Redskin Nation with Larry Michael doing an interview with former Redskin Ted Vactor, and he spoke to the same issue.

Vactor said when Vince Lombardi was coach here he actually challenged a fan to take the field to demonstrate what he perceived to be his worth, it was in short order the fan soon realized that just some of the drills were more than a notion......which quickly prompted a change of heart.

I'm against people getting hit in the head, unless they're in the NFL.

I'm against people dying in automobile accidents unless it's in NASCAR.

I'm against people giving their bodies over to drugs and alcohol, unless they're musicians.

C'mon? Are you going to tell me that Charlie Daniels is good without booze, or that Lennon was better off without smack?

There's always somebody trying to be a mommy.

Exhibit A on why I'm against the helmet rule:

YouTube - Witten Loses Helmet and still runs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMAaZYD3meE)

The best you could find was a clip of a Dallas player making a play in a game they won. You should get banned for 3 days.

Sissyfication of football...once upon a time football was played by men:

After watching that its does add the sissy factor to football. Not that I'd call a football player a sissy to his face but this is the internet.
