I simply can't see Shanahan starting a rookie and I'm not sure Campbell could beat out Grossman for the starting job. If both were learning a brand new system, he probably could. However, Grossman's got experience in the system and is probably somewhat favored our QB coach and offensive coordinator.
Campbell may very well wind up being our day 1 starter, but i dont think we can assume that he will. I definitely see an open competition, atleast during the early stages of camp. hopefully, we'll have definatively named our starter before the preseason begins.
I honestly don't see Grossman giving JC a serious run for his money, unless Grossman has seriously cleaned up his decision making. He takes way too many dumb risks.
JC has the better arm, is more accurate, and is also the better athletic fit for the bootlegs and roll-outs Shanahan likes to run.
Should he be given the chance to compete for the starting job? Sure why not? I just doubt he would win out.

Very possible. At the very least, Grossman's about the most serious competition for a starting job that Campbell's ever had to deal with. I beleive competition makes people better, so hopefully it will help Campbell improve his game (assuming he's still here, that is).

More like Plummer basically "earned" his benching. Maybe Plummer ticked off Shanny one too many times, was simply ineffective, or both.
