I'm going to try out for ILB! CultBrennan59 03-18-2010, 12:30 AM ^ ya I'm faster than Brandon Spikes is an interesting thing and a accomplishment for me to be faster than atleast one LB in this year draft haha 30gut 03-18-2010, 01:04 AM ^ No they haven't Tennessee ran a 4-3 and so did St. Louis and buffalo for fletcher's case. Fletcher, who'll likely line up inside next to McIntosh (a restricted free agent), isn't worried about the defense making a big adjustment. "I've played in a 4-3 and a 3-4," he said. "And some of the things we did last year (under retired coordinator Greg Blache) are related to the 3-4 concept." http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/teams/r...ngton_Redskins CultBrennan59 03-18-2010, 01:39 AM Fletcher, who'll likely line up inside next to McIntosh (a restricted free agent), isn't worried about the defense making a big adjustment. St. Louis ran a 4-3 the whole time fletch was there and buffalo as well ran a 4-3 the whole time he was there, what he means by playing in the 3-4 before is during games they would occasionally run it a few times, which really isn't that big of a deal. It's not like he was always in a 3-4 defense for a whole season, is what I'm saying. 30gut 03-19-2010, 12:07 AM what I'm saying is he never played in a base 3-4 defense before. I played in this scheme in Buffalo, but we did it out of a 4-3. It's a defense I'm familiar with because Dick LeBeau was with us in Buffalo." First off i don't think that Rocky is neccesarily undersized for a 3-4 ILB. They are many 3-4 ILB around his same size: Copper/Siler, Brooking/James, DQ Jackson(go terps!)+Barton+Maiava, Scott/Harris I think our ILBs are set for this season. London will be the strong side ILB(buck) and Rocky the weak side ILB(mack). Blades, imo, because of experience playing SAM and his short stocky frame is a natural fit as a 3-4 'buck' and would be capable back-up to London. Henson, Robert (http://www.redskins.com/gen/players/Robert_Henson.jsp) comes from TCU where i believed they played a 3-4 and he has good size and speed and showed last pre-season that he hits with good pop i think he could step in at either spot but especially the 'mack' position. The team was high on Young, Darrel (http://www.redskins.com/gen/players/Darrel_Young.jsp) last year a young LB with good size and outstanding speed (4.5) Darrel Young*|*Villanova,*ILB*:*2009 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile (http://74.125.93.132/search?q=cache:mEM2Yd7CFsYJ:www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php%3Fpyid%3D86577%26draftyear%3D2009%26 genpos%3DILB+Darrel+Young+LB+Villanova&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us) I got a text message today saying Darrell Young has changed his number to 36 and changed his position to FB SmootSmack 03-19-2010, 07:15 AM I got a text message today saying Darrell Young has changed his number to 36 and changed his position to FB Yeah, saw that too. Wonder what's that all about. tryfuhl 03-19-2010, 07:27 AM I got a text message today saying Darrell Young has changed his number to 36 and changed his position to FB the reverse cody glenn #56fanatic 03-19-2010, 07:39 AM I personally would give Blades a shot. Rocky is more of an OLB guy. Blades is a clone of London fletcher, so can't use the argument of undersized LB. He has the instincts to play, and has basically been watching London and learning the last few years. Now, if someone is there late, 4th or 5th, then maybe. I really think we have quality players on our bench that could play. If Blades plays middle, Rocky plays OLB. I have always said give Chris wilson a shot. I think he would be a very good OLB in a 3/4. From what i here they are predicting Spikes will go in the 4th or 5th now because of his very slow 40 time, which is ridiculous. remember when they said fitzgerald wouldn't be an NFL receiver because he was too slow?? how did that work out! Spikes is one of those "football players" instinctive, aggressive, just freaking mean on the field. I would take him in the 3rd if he is there. |
