Redskins Jim, I wouldn't call him a BUM, the guy did have a pretty good yr . I agree that he isn't a franchise qb but he gives it his all every week. I'm all for drafting a qb trust me but we should keep jc for 1 more yr

I wound'nt say JC is not liked around the league, it's just these certain teams wan't a different direction than Campbell. Actually multiple sources have said the Bills are very interested in Campbell
any links?

I would say he is respected as a person, but I haven't seen anybody offer anything that would indicate interest in JC for their team. AKA: JC is not viewed as a better QB than MOST other QBs in the league, including B. Quinn, J. Delhomme, D. Carr, and I'm sure qute a few other widely respected fireballs..

Delhomme and Carr are unrestricted free agents. You can't put them in the same category.

I am a bit surprised that Whitehurst has drawn enough interest to possibly land the Chargers a 3rd round pick though

No surprise there, they have been that division's whipping boys for years.

I agree, SKOK. Maybe the word "bum" is a bit harsh. I mean "bum" in terms of his game play, or the inability to raise his game play to a dominant level. He is a classy guy and I love his blue collar work ethic. I am just sick and tired of being a fan of a losing franchise, and a Top 5 QB in the league would go a long way towards elevating our club to perennial contenders.

Fair enough, it is not the same as JC being tendered. But, as I stated before, I have not heard of anyone, EVER, that was SERIOUSLY interested in acquiring JC as their starting QB. In other words, as I addressed skinsfaninok's question, It IS an indictment of the rest of the league's view of JC. The other 31 teams are not impressed or interested in him as their starting QB.

Well I think there has been faint interest, certainly not as much as you would hope considering how much we gave up just to draft him.

I think if JC was on the open market he would already have landed a job. The biggest thing is that a trade always takes two teams/people thinking along the same lines. Right now, JC has a lot of value within our own club as an established starting qb. For us to let him go, BA and Shanahan are going to want good value for him. On the other hand, other teams know we are probably looking in other directions, thanks Vinnie for your covert attempts last year, so they aren't going to give up too much or make big time trade offers for him.

Both valid points, I think you are correct about other teams "chicken hawking" on JC, waiting for an oppertunity to steal him for little to nothing. I do think many teams, including our own, would love to have him as a backup QB.
