I'm in the minority, but I like the signing. I think he tallies more yards than CP next season. I think them splitting the work load is important. Just like our jobs, it's important to find a company you fit in with and go from there. Hopefully LJ fits in here. I need to look at his career carries, but I think it's significantly less than CP.

Plus, correct me if I a wrong, but didnt he have a pretty serious injury that kept him out his entire rookie season? I mean, a history of knee injuries to an overworked 30 yo bitchy RB doesnt really strike me like he is our back of the future, but why waste $$ and time on this asshole? Sorry, this move officially effin sucks. There are much better/younger options, especially if ppl think shanny can turn any RB he touches to gold. This might be his biggest project/challenge to date.

Did you read the article, it's 3 years for $3.5 million. Only if he reaches certain incentives does it grow to $12 million.

And if he reaches the incentives, you'll be happy. It's a very low-cost deal.

I am not saying he is overpriced, I am saying, why waste money on the guy in the first place, even if its a C Note. The guy is old, and an unstable personality to say the least.

PEOPLE I'm not 100% behind this BUT we only have 5 picks in this draft unless we pick up more & we have so many holes to fill. Maybe this won't be the year to draft a RB WE ONLY HAVE 5 PICKS you do the math.

Is he our starter?

i was at the chiefs game last season. to say that L.J was dis- interested would be putting it mildly. don't like adding bad seeds to the redskins

When you are 4-12 you can't worry about signing a bunch of boy scouts. If he helps the team (and I think he can in more than one way) you sign him. If he is a problem you cut him. His deal is peanuts so it really is another no risk deal with possibly a huge upside.

This is the first signing I'm really not OK with... and about 99% of my feelings are about how he is off the field...

Anyone who has been arrested for hitting women before shouldn't even be in the league and quite honestly, I'm embarrassed that I'll end up cheering for that guy next season. I really hope London Fletcher knocks this piece of trash through a wall during training camp. I'll deal with Clinton Portis' pre-madona BS all day long... but when it comes to off the field incidnets like this, it really strikes a nerve with me.

I believe that people deserve second chances. If he doesn't work out cut him.

Opinion is all over the place on this signing. Portis and LJ may be a little past thier prime but teams generally keep 4 or 5 RB's so there is still time and roster space to add 1 or 2 more young RB's to the mix.

I am okay with the signing actually. I think he may have a little more left in the tank then most of the other veteran RB options. He did a lot of riding the pine in his early years.

Worthless, worthless, signing. We could get a young hungry player rather than this past-prime dude. I really hope i eat my words but there is no way in heck i would have signed this guy. I just dont see the upside.

SOMEONE PLEASE CLARIFY IT FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok. Since these young hungry running backs grow on trees name two? If people haven't noticed, this is a fairly limited Free Agent class.

Signing LJ makes sense. he has a lot less on the clock than these other FA runningbacks.

LJ ran behind not bad but HORRIBLE lines for years. I don't think he is done.

On an additional note, I love how noone questions these moves, or lack thereof. I do hope people recall that Shanahan was borderline as a coach his last two seasons in Denver, and one might say the last 3 seasons. Sub 500 record the last 36 games. If he didnt inherit our defense, Id really be concerned this year as well. Anyone realize that he was ranked 30th and 28th in 2008 and 2007 in defensive pts allowed, respectively? And this team does not have the offense to offset that type of point differential, and what is being done to avoid that?? Larry Johnson and a career backup guard that wouldnt even get a starting spot on 90% of teams? Come on now, this has to make some fans in Redskin Nation a little uneasy.

Shanahan has admitted that he made some mistakes and that is why Haslett was brought in.

Shanny is here to fix the offense and won't be destroying the defense.
