CrustyRedskin 03-12-2010, 08:59 PM I can't stand this guy. Don't we already have a drama queen RB??? His numbers speak for themselves but I don't know. He's always ripping teammates, coaches and so on. This has disaster written all over it.
I hear ya man, to me the risk-reward is just not there. We are trying to build a fresh atmosphere around the park and we sign this guy. idk, but i am officially stupid.
tryfuhl 03-12-2010, 09:06 PM I would have rather had LT because he's a leader and puts Football first. Don't start jocking LJ just because he's a skin now. We were all dogging him when he threw his Bitch fit the last 2 yrs in KC. And as far as Cp goes he's a way better back than LJ, Portis actually blocks and can Pass Catch aswell.
If he helps us more than he hurts us we should be fine with it
people still support portis and he bitched here in DC.. same with 'Los
I don't care if you bitch about another team as long as you show up and do work here, there are legitimate gripes out there and there some some whiny asses too
like anyone else I wonder why he was the guy, but like everyone else here, I'm not the coach so I'll have to play the wait and see approach
the idea that we always have to have the best guy available should've worn thin on you guys a long time ago
redskin37 03-12-2010, 09:06 PM Its a big game and the skins have the ball first and goal from the 5 yard line. L.J and C.P are both healthy. Who do you want in the backfield?. L.J gets my vote.

Mechanix544 03-12-2010, 09:08 PM Ya, same here. How dare I question anything this FO does.
And now I dont read any posts..........Stupid is as stupid posts.
tryfuhl 03-12-2010, 09:09 PM $12 million sounds like a lot for a 30 year old RB, but I understand that only a portion is usually guaranteed as stated above. Anyway, running backs retire WAY earlier than other positions since they get so banged up. 40 year old QB's are not uncommon, but 33 year old RB's are almost unheard of.
Anyway, I agree he technically has less mileage than his age suggests.
Rabach got 3 years/12 mil
I'd say paying that for an RB isn't so bad
NYCskinfan82 03-12-2010, 09:12 PM Isn't he like 80 years old at this point? Kind of hard to hold a football and a walker at the same time
:laughing2
Mechanix544 03-12-2010, 09:12 PM I love you how don't actually read any posts on here
You love me how dont....wait, I love me dont how you........ummm, give me a second....wait, WHAT?!!!!!!! Is dyslexia treatable?
;D
with grammar that like, Im glad I dont read any posts on here!!

how can you say that? he lead the league in carries a couple of times. and i think he might have set a record for most carries in a season. he has got a ton of mileage on him
Schneed10 03-12-2010, 09:19 PM The fact of the matter is Clinton Portis isn't the ideal back for grinding out short yardage. In his younger days when he was quicker, he could knife his way through tiny holes to get tough yards. But not so much anymore.
You need a bull around the goalline, and Johnson still fits that mold. I like it.
Mechanix544 03-12-2010, 09:24 PM Plus, correct me if I a wrong, but didnt he have a pretty serious injury that kept him out his entire rookie season? I mean, a history of knee injuries to an overworked 30 yo bitchy RB doesnt really strike me like he is our back of the future, but why waste $$ and time on this asshole? Sorry, this move officially effin sucks. There are much better/younger options, especially if ppl think shanny can turn any RB he touches to gold. This might be his biggest project/challenge to date.
