$12 million sounds like a lot for a 30 year old RB, but I understand that only a portion is usually guaranteed as stated above. Anyway, running backs retire WAY earlier than other positions since they get so banged up. 40 year old QB's are not uncommon, but 33 year old RB's are almost unheard of.

Anyway, I agree he technically has less mileage than his age suggests.

Most of that 12 million is not guaranteed.

I'm more than okay with this signing. LJ is a D.C. native (Waldorf) and grew up a Skins fan. On his worst day he's better than Rock and Betts. He missed a good portion of 2007 with a foot injury, but other than that he's proven to be durable for the most part.

I like the move over Willie Parker or LT, both of which are still without a contract.

And he won't have to bribe anyone to get his jersey number. Smoot conveniently left it for him.

I thought fast Willie would have been the better change of pace, but there's always room to make that type of move in the draft.

If LJ keeps his nose clean it might work out to be a good signing.

I don't want this piece of crap in a Redskins uniform.

I can't stand this guy. Don't we already have a drama queen RB??? His numbers speak for themselves but I don't know. He's always ripping teammates, coaches and so on. This has disaster written all over it.

We'll, there was that three month period when everyone thought Ladell Betts was a big back. Really not sure why that happened though.

And there was TJ Duckett. Not that anyone deserves to be reminded of that.
