Beat me to it. Odd decision in my mind, considering he apparently can't even pass a physical at this point

just read it. I'm glad about that hopefully he can become healthy enough to make it on the field...

Maake Kemoeatu | #99 | DT

Height: 6-5 Weight: 345 Age: 31
Born: 1/10/1979 Tonga
College: Utah
Experience: 9th season

Former Carolina Panthers nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu.. ...He sat out the 2009 season after tearing his Achilles' tendon in training camp and his recovery has been bumpy... Although Kemoeatu's initial surgery went well, he later required a second procedure and still is not running. But the Redskins are in the process of making a major shift from a 4-3 to a base 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, so it makes sense to keep an eye on Kemoeatu, who was a force in the middle for Carolina. Kemoeatu had a base salary of $2 million last season.

Sounds somewhat risky -- a hefty contract for someone coming off two surgeries last year. I guess he looked good. I'd personally love to see some signings on the offensive line, but it seems they are being very deliberate and signing the guys they actually think can play.

They must be confident that he will be back strong and ready to go.

Comment: Kemoeatu has excellent size and strength inside and he is a physical force in stopping the run. He has good recognition skills and hand use. He understands how to play with leverage and he can shed and make plays quickly in a short area. He lacks speed and range down the line of scrimmage but for his size he is surprisingly athletic. He can absorb double teams and hold his ground inside, allowing LBs to remain free in their path to the ball from behind. He is limited as a pass-rusher because of his lack of speed. He can be very powerful as an in-line rusher. Provides a good push up the middle as a bull-rusher but doesn't have a wide variety of moves to defeat blocks and get to the QB. Overall, he's a better run player than pass-rusher. Strong and powerful within a short area.

Well, looks like we have our front three...

Haynesworth DE, Kemoeatu DT, and Daniels DE.

I hope Kemoeatu heals up though.

No CBA, we have the room to take a couple chances like this...y not, with all the salary we have cleared out, 7 mil 2years is no worry
