Since I didn't know much about Achilles injuries, I looked it up. Seems like a pretty nasty injury based on this report. However, surgery gets better all the time.... I trust our new front office, and his contract is all incentive laden. Still a great signing.

I loved "studies" like this. What they fail to distinguish is that 2/3 of the league are one serious injury away from being out of the league anyways. They are holding on by their teeth to stay in the league when healthy. Once a big injury hits, even if they recover, they never get a second chance. I'd bet it's more like 2/3 of the starting players who suffer the injury make it back into the NFL. Maybe even more.

I ruptured my achilles on Thanksgiving day and was playing softball the following March.

The only thing that I am worried about with this deal is why isn't he running by now? Either way, I am confident that James Andrews can fix whatever the problem is.

Apparently the wound wasn't healing right which required the 2nd procedure. So at least it wasn't a problem with the tendon itself.

You know if you look at MattyK and Maake written (or typed) enough times next to each other they start to look the same...time to change your user name Matty?

Example, Jon Jansen was back in a year with no lingering affects.

Yes forgot about him, but even when he came back it seemed like his lateral movement was diminished. However he did seem to play ok against us when we played Detroit this year.

Notice that you never see the two of them in the same room at the same time...hmm...

What I find most encouraging about Kemoeatu is his durability, at least until last year when he was injured.

His four years in Baltimore he started 61 of a possible 64 games.....His three years in Carolina he started 46 of a possible 48 games. I dosen't get any better than that when it comes to games started. If he can get back on track completely he'll prove to be a very good addition to the team.

I was looking back at how he got hurt and apparently he injured himself during the first 30 minutes into the first day of camp. No contact involved.

Talk about a freaky thing.

Oh, another name for him would be, KemoEATU. I'm lovin this guy already.

its a terminology i'm not used to, no. in fact, i havent seen it used anywhere else. if you can show me where its used commonly, i'd love to see it.

It's used all across the league

a LB just comes in and lines up outside on the line, they don't shift back into the 4-3 alignment
