The topic question could be construed as misleading but it wasn't ment to be. just was read the discussion about the lack of moves made. freddyg12 03-09-2010, 09:36 AM Someone, Schneed or CC, correct me if I am wrong, but even though this year is an uncapped year, and sure it is more likely than not that next year there will be a strike or shortened season. However, many don't realize that when this thing settles there will be a salary cap again. So why spend like there is no tomorrow when no one knows what tomorrow holds? I mean why spend all that money for one season and then almost totally explode the team to get under the cap again... I would also add that it's not just about the cap. We may think Snyder has bottomless pockets but it's not secret that some of his ventures (6 flags e.g.) have not been doing well. I'm sure revenue at the stadium was down this year. It looks like they have a plan, which entails a budget that Allen has set w/the Danny's blessing. As the Peter King article mentions, Allen didn't want to spend too much or get impulsive in free agency. I like it so far, sign players that are w/in your budget parameters rather than trying to outbid for 1 or 2 guys then having to restructure every year, etc. If Vinny were still here I don't know if Peppers would be a skin, but I bet Clifton & Pashos would be. We would've overpaid for both to try & get the quick fix of the o line. FRPLG 03-09-2010, 10:20 AM The FA pool this year was crap. Only a few difference makers and not at positions where we really had needs. Why accumulate more of what we had just cut? I have vastly more patience with a FO that builds this way than with Snyderato trying to buy the trophy.
