T.O.Killa 03-03-2010, 10:50 PM Plays like a 3rd rounder, talks like a Hall of Famer. I hope someone else is stupid enough to sign him to a tender and he goes. I wish they would have tendered him at a 2nd round level so a team would have been more likely to sign him..
I am not sure anyone understands why he is pissed off. He was not tendered as a high level first round draft choice from what I understand. He was given the lowest possible tender, that gives you the original draft pick that the player was drafted at. They could have done the same for Campbell, but elected to show him some respect and give him a high level tender. I may be wrong, but this is how I understand it. If this is the case, you can see why he is upset. Upset to the tune off at least a couple million dollars.

If there's a conclusion to be drawn here, it's that Campbell could be in the teams plans past 2010, but Rogers almost certainly is not.

Actually they gave Campbell the second highest tender. Campbell could have gotten tendered as a first and third however he is now tendered as just a first round pick.

In one case, the team was willing to spend a little bit more money to show that, yes, we value your contribution to the team, now prove you deserve to play here beyond this year. In the other, it's essentially just leveraging the fact that they control Rogers' rights, making a trade more enticing to a team that only has to pay his salary for one year at $1+ million, and basically suggesting that he's gone after this year.
Saves them nearly two million in uncapped dollars, which is the positive part.

Curious if you think anyone will yield a 2nd rounder for Los? How about a 3rd rounder?...and would our FO let him go for that?

Well no one would have given us a second for him, so giving him a high level tender was more than fair since they could have given him a low level tender and still would require a first to get him.
CultBrennan59 03-03-2010, 11:06 PM Poor Carlos rogers, he gets burned, beat, cooked, and now tendered. Oh wait this isn't about how bad he is at coverages.

Are you talking about Campbell or Rogers? Because let's not forget that things are different this offseason. Very limited talent out there that is not RFA, so teams may be willing to pay up a little bit more than last season.

Campbell
PHazard 03-03-2010, 11:08 PM He just said in an interview last week "With the new coaching and everything I DEFINATLY wanna be here." They tendered him so he gets to stay. In theory he got what he wanted lmao. He shoulda said, i wanna stay here WITH an extended deal AND get paid like a top 10 cornerback since we all know thats what he is thinking. Id take a 2nd or 3rd n 6th rounder for him.
