I'm with wilsowilso - did Rogers really think that he wouldn't be tendered?

It seems that he does not realize that he actually got a good deal, given the circumstances.

I think, minus the int's, Carlos is a very good corner, but he is not the sharpest from watching Redskin Nation interviews. He is just responding from a basic instinct, and will deal with it once it is clearer to him.

Carlos has been a "Bust" since we drafted him in the first rd! He has the worst hands of any CB in the league. I hope he leaves anyway, It's time to cut the dead weight around here!

To be fair to Carlos, I wouldn't say he was a bust. He is a starting quality cornerback and he may have the best pure coverage skills of the corners on our team. And if you look back at that draft, Rolle, Pac-man and Rogers were the top 3 corners. Now Rolle failed as a corner but has saved his career as a safety. So Rogers was the best pick of the three for the position that we targeted.

Now, he has definitely underperformed as a corner taken 9th overall and I am convinced that if he held on to some of the balls that hit his hands, we would have won more games since he has been here.

I have a feeling he's most upset at not being tendered at 1st & 3rd which would have afforded him a substantial raise being a five year player. He undoubtedly was looking to be tendered the same as Jason Campbell, but to think they weren't going to tender him at all and just let him walk is warped thinking. He should have known he had it coming, just a matter of what level.

The 1st round tender is just a starting point for negotiations correct? If offered a 2nd rd pick for Los I bet the FO takes it...

This is typical Carlos.

A 1st is the jump off point but a deal is negotionable. If he keeps stirring the pot the FO may be willing to accept a 2nd for him. With a deep draft like this one I'd take a 2nd for him just to get rid of his mouth.

Yes, his basic instinct of dropping the ball when it counts. :laughing-

People on this board are way too rough on 'los. I don't agree with what he's saying, of course the skins tendered you. That's how this business runs. You're going to get a decent contract, just play for it. Personally, I think we should extend him a reasonable contract now after a down year. Carlos plays great coverage sure, he got burned a few times. Find me a CB that doesn't. It's part of the game. His hands are bad, he drops picks. I wish he made them, but he's not a WR, if he's shutting down a receiver -- he's doing his job.

I'm curious what fan sentiment would be like on players from the 80s if they had ways to quickly contact millions of fans (Facebook, twitter, 24 hour media, etc etc). These guys are just reacting. No time to think about what they're saying. That doesn't make saying stupid things "right" -- but I understand how certain mentalities can go over the top sometimes.

Also, those of you willing to take a 2nd round pick for a young and relatively talented corner. Think long and hard about who we have on this team to replace him. Smoot as a starter? Draft a complete gamble of a player in the 2nd round? People often over-value draft picks. I'm shocked at how many people are willing to toss away a proven commodity for a 2nd round crap shoot. Let's look at our 2nd rounders over the past 10 years.
Rocky McIntosh, Taylor Jacobs, Ladell Betts, Fred Smoot. Not a terrible list, but not a great one.
