The Falcons also picked up Sam Baker later in the first round during that draft, he's now their starting Left Tackle with the pick that we traded to get Kelly, Thomas, and Davis.
Ah yes but he only started 5 games in 2008. It wasn't until this year that he became a starter. And whos to say that we couldn't get a player of Bakers caliber with our 2nd round pick? This is a very deep tackle class. Heck whats stopping us from trading back into the first to take Charles Brown or better yet having Brown fall to us? Also don't sleep on Roger Saffold (T Indiana).

I'd be ok with a 2nd rounder tackle. Some people are not even mentioning that as an option, wanting to patch the line with just FAs and low rounders.

That is unacceptable. One of our first two picks has to be a lineman. I wouldn't sleep though on the mid to late round picks. Shanahan has done a good job of finding these guys that fit his scheme. Now if he's trying to build a D-Line with those same picks then I would be worried.

No keep all our picks & if possible don't trade next years picks if possible.

If we did go after him, I definitely would put him at RT. If you can't let your LT lock up one on one consistently with the top pass rushers in this league, you've got a problem.
That is a 101% true statement. You have to have more faith in your LT than any other position on the field. This guy would fit in as a candidate to compete with whatever rookie we draft after Okung for the starting RT position, and with Dockery and Rabach, and bring in Sims over from Seattle, and you have yourself a very quality offensive line. I am sure whoever is behind center this year will be better protected, no matter who we bring in this year. Shanny always has good lines.

I think it's really interesting that we had this thread on the day that Heyer got a second round tender, because Bushrod is basically their Heyer. It suggests that this is the new going rate for a tackle.
But since I don't think anyone is lining up to offer us a second for Heyer, I'm not thinking we should return the favor.

What T.O. Killa correctly surmised is that if Bushrod is another Heyer, everyone who spent time typing on this post has been cheated out of part of their life.

i hear ya buddy but nobody is going to immediatley make our o line look good. not JC, not bradford, not clausen, not okung.
have we reached a deal with rabach? if not, he hits the FA wire in about 34 hours.
Would be shocked if we reach a deal with Rabach, especially before FA hits
