Your right, Dockery's fine. Maybe we should just use 1 pick for the other 4 positions of need on the o-line. He better be one hell of a player.
we could always go the UDFA route, it's worked great for us in recent years!

I would consider this a good way to go. If we can get Okung and another OT or someone like Pouncey, who can play center or guard in the second, I think we've made a significant upgrade to our line and gained some youth. Fill in some more with a couple of FA acquisitions and JC has better protection this year. Hardesty would be an upgrade and would be a good fit for this offense. Sign a couple of quality "D" players in free agency and I would consider this about as successful an off-season as could be reasonably expected.
I like your take. With Hardesty running behind Okung and Pouncey, some damage can be done.
Hardesty bummed me out by having a good combine because it may have driven his stock up. :)

I think the only real chance we have is there are other RB's rated higher and maybe only a couple will be taken high. If the defensive players and o-linemen are gobbled up maybe players like Hardesty will still be there. If we could get more picks that would be great. But yeah, I'd love to see a young RB with talent running behind those guys. :)

Ahhhh...you may be on to something C. :laughing-
besides the fact that he's old, todd seems like a horrible fit for shannys offense. i gotta believe he's a gonner.
Why is Todd Collins a bad fit for Mike Shanahan's offense?

I hope Brennan can earn both Shanahan's confidence. How they gon workout in Ashburn? Arent they buried under like 40 inces of snow. i know they are a professional franchise so they have wonderful cleaners but jeez thats alot haha
what? the snow's been gone for awhile

the only way i want us to hang on to JC is if shanahan will commit to him for atleast 2 years (unless his play just totally drops off, of course). IMO its simply not worth it to keep him for another year while we groom a rookie and then let him walk away for nothing when his contract expires after the 2010 season. Right now, Bradford is the only QB that could be available to us in the draft or free agency that even has the potential to be a significant upgrade over Campbell here.
so sign him to a 2 year contract now? or tender/hold on then sign for 1 more year?
I don't see that happening

I'm all for having a competition, that way when people see that Colt is not a starting quarterback, these threads won't pop up anymore

I know that Colt is the darling of alot of posters on WP while others could careless about the former Hawaii standout. I fall somewhere in the middle as a guy who liked him coming out of college and feels like he has a realistic shot of being an All-Pro caliber QB (...yes, I know it's a bit of a long shot) with the right work ethic and coaching. I think we need to see him with the first team O this pre-season to see what he can do against NFL caliber competition. If he can be solid this prseason, win the starting job (not a stretch for a third year player, despite the injury) and give a solid perfomance this season...then we may not have to look outside of Ashburn for our QB for the next 10 years. What do you think?
No way Colt Brenan couldnt lead bugs to a rib roast!! He didnt look like pro caliber material in the preseason.Jason Campbell is the qb of the future of this franchise! If the so called line could hold up for one second he could throw the ball!!By the time the season was over we were down to off the street running backs!! Kill that Colt Brennan talk not gonna happen!!!
