Thing is, our scouts are notoriously poor at evaluating the talent around the rest of the league. We've, historically, been much more successful projecting from the college level. BA can only work with the information that he's been given.

I couldn't agree more. Maybe it was a philosophy thing more than scouting but who knows.

Think of Delhomme without Steve Smith....wow.
He has now entered the land of the backups....except 3 or 4 teams that flat out suck at QB. Thank goodness we are not one of them.

He is decent....that is all
Campbell is better and still has upside in my opinion.
Delhomme will only get worse over time

Is that like a fucking haiku or something?

I think its a job security thing. If there's a lockout, the players may be out of luck salary-wise.Particularly good point. Didn't even think of that.

If Shanahan can get mid to late rounders to be the best OL in the NFL as he has with Denver then I presume he will do just as well with players who are from other teams but the same catagory.

My hope is to trade down from the #4 spot for multiple picks in order to pick up some of those mid to late rounders. I keep holding out hope that this is the plan. I want more good draftees, and not one high priced one at #4. I think Allenhan-ShanAllen can do it.

Good arguments all around, by the way. Ultimately, I hope this "smell" is just the stench of poor analysis on my part.

Yeah at this point in FA we usually have other things to talk about and speculate.

Can someone please tell Gregg Rosenthal to get his head out of his arse and remind him we still have Quinton Ganther on our roster of players.

Anthony Aldrige and P.J. Hill are the only running backs on the Redskins roster other than Portis.

The truth is that Pashos visited Washington, they talked numbers, and Pashos left as planned for Cleveland.
