From what I've read so far it seems like most of you are in denial about how "this new approach" to the offseason is going.

As you guys can see even with the draft all said and done that leaves us with 3 or 4 huge holes in our roster. Now I'm not really trying to go off on a rant which I'm sure I did but, the point is we need to sign free agents and we need to trade, the draft just won't cut it and it confuses me how some of you dont' understand that. Anyways go Redskins and let's hope that these two ex- superbowl winners (MS and BA) get their phones going much faster!

Is this your first offseason? No team is finished or even close a couple of days in. Cuts aren't done with, trades aren't done with, hell offseason activities haven't even started yet, nor have we had the draft. There is a lot of time left, there will be cuts similar to the ones that we've seen already.

Giantone... you usually are a pretty good sport about your posts. You are coming off very aggressive. For a team who fell apart last year.
.

Yeah he's been like that since the Giants meltdown, I'd be bitter too, but on my own team's forum. Guess he can't find enough friends on Gnats boards even though they that share the common interest.

I hope we end up signing Pashos. Between him, Heyer and hopefully Levi one of them would have to work out.... right?

Tony Pashos is a fringe starting RT, Hicks is a fringe NFL player.

Pashos is a good signing if we draft a LT early, and fail to address the line again until late in the draft, we'll be alright with him and Heyer on the right side.

In general, no idea what the line rebuilding plan is. We're not targeting guys with zone blocking experience, and we've brought in a lot of guys. I'm sure Shanahan has a plan, I just hope it's better than, "sign some guys, get lucky".

Hicks has spent his whole career playing for Reid/Childress, and their zone blocking schemes more closely resemble Zorn's than Shanahan's. Not that it's a huge difference.
I guess nothing's saying that we have to keep these guys, who knows.

Could you point to a link sharing the diff zone blocking schemes such as the reid style and shanny's? Or a brief synopsis?

Justin Fargas is now a FA. He has low mileage and can catch out of the backfield.

Wonder if that's who the rumors Smoot mentioned were about

Lol it's certainly not my first offseason. My point was everyone's talking about how satisfied they are and how great it is to see us not throwing away money. Now sure that's true in a sense, but with a team that needs depth at every position we need to be going after some of the 2nd tier guys such as (Ryan Clark, Porter, Fujita, etc). Now I'm not saying sign them all but atleast show some interest and so far other than Foote, we haven't.

You're right though, more people will most likely get released, but we need to assume the worst and start with what's available. There's no denying the fact that as these next days come, more and more guys of interest to us will be unavailable.

We're talking to some of these guys already. They're the ones that take longer to sign as nobody's saying "hey kid we'll pay you what you want" to them. They'll be fielding offers from quite a few teams.
