Chad Clifton a weak idea of trying to address a line. A backup on any decent offense.
But on the other hand, if you're not interested in taking a player who isn't a quarterback at No. 4, better to sign a marginal LT and draft a strong RT than the opposite.

That hurts man, that really hurts. Still bitter over the Jason Brown news?
Who's Jason Brown. Is he a receiver or something *chews gum*
Actually on a more serious note, what would have been the plan with Jason Brown? Did they want him to play Guard or Center?

sign an old guy with injury concerns that wants a lot of money that was on a shitty line, great
Casey Rabach is mediocre and they overpaid him by a heck of a lot - if it was still the salary cap era. Not really sure what to think in these uncharted waters.

There aren't any premier FA options at LT. At least this guy has been a solid starter and they aren't focused on a big name wide receiver or safety. Ideally, they still draft a tackle or two.
Also, Schefter made it sound like teams are going to continue to make cuts. As foreign as it sounds, maybe the Redskins are patient and wait for decent guys to become available.

All I know is waking up this morning to no big name news was foreign to my last 10 years as Redskin fan. It seems like a good thing. And the fact is, now maybe some names may still sign with us, ie Dansby, but it won't have been a "rush to judgement" feeling about it.
Again, seems like a more professional approach overall.

for real, last year was the most extreme. The FO did such a good job of hiding their interest in AH until the last couple days before FA, then boom, he signs. I didn't like it before or after, but I had to try & spin it to myself that it was a good move.
Glad that so far (there's a long way to go) I'm not dealing w/any of that.
