Redskins_P 03-03-2010, 04:19 PM Heyer has received a 2nd round tender....per Redskins Insider GTripp0012 03-03-2010, 04:20 PM Just over 32 hours now. Not that I'm counting. GTripp0012 03-03-2010, 04:21 PM Really hope Montgomery gets something. Think he would be good in the defensive scheme change. over the mountain 03-03-2010, 04:21 PM ^wow...i mean come on man everybody is dealing with the CBA issue. I think Rocky has been decent, but with this new scheme coming, I dont think it will fit him as others. I think the low tender is the right move, right now. If he excells this year, he will get paid. if he gets seriously injured, hes done for his career. if he gets a hammy injury and misses 5 games next year, he goes into a FA with question marks that would diminish his opportunity to get a good deal. if we sign dansby to a multi year deal, i think rocky will be real pissed. we drafted this guy, watch him slowly develop into a decent linebacker, then when he is set to hit FA after playing on a 5 yr rookie deal we slap him with a 1 yr 1 million dollar tender? rocky = dansby, atleast stats wise they are almost identical. lets low ball a skins player who has done nothing try and do what he is asked, and then give money to a FA linebacker who wants to get paid? havent we heard this story before? dont we know how it will end? dont give me that "its a business" crap. right, its a business when we are going to low ball your worth b/c we can but it's "family" when we hit pre-season and regular season and need you to go out and play your hardest without worrying about injury. how willing is rocky going to be to sacrifice his body for the team after this? GridIron26 03-03-2010, 04:30 PM Heyer has received a 2nd round tender....per Redskins Insider I was kinda surprised to see that; Shanahan must have seen something in him.. Would be definitely nice if we get 2nd round pick for him, although it's not the likely scenario.. Rocky is upset about being tendered; he apparently wants a extension contract or move onto other team.. Hopefully he (and the coaches) will change their opinions on each other through out the season.. Redskins_P 03-03-2010, 04:34 PM I was kinda surprised to see that; Shanahan must have seen something in him.. Rocky is upset about being tendered; he apparently wants a extension contract or move onto other team.. Hopefully he (and the coaches) will change their opinions on each other through out the season.. I was surprised as well. I'm not the biggest Heyer fan but I guess Shanahan wants to keep him for depth. He's a decent backup. Rocky just needs to shut up and play. If he has another productive season, I can definitely see them offering him an extension at some point. GridIron26 03-03-2010, 04:36 PM I was surprised as well. I'm not the biggest Heyer fan but I guess Shanahan wants to keep him for depth. He's a decent backup. That might be the main reason - after all, we literally have no decent depth on O-line beside few guys.. I can understand this move, I guess.. Edit: I used to be a fan of Heyer; I was hoping that he would improve throughout the season with experiences.. But apparently, he hasn't improved much and coaches didn't have any faith in him.. So.. skinsfan69 03-03-2010, 04:36 PM Broncos place first-round tender on Marshall Posted: March 3rd, 2010 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Brandon Marshall, Denver Broncos The Denver Broncos have placed a first-round tender on restricted free-agent WR Brandon Marshall, reports NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi. We need to give up the 1st rounder and try and make a run at this punk. CultBrennan59 03-03-2010, 04:37 PM Well, I know if we tried trading Heyer for Bushrod, that wouldn't work, maybe we could throw in a little something-something to get Bushrod, because he IS an upgrade over Heyer, thats for sure. Redskins_P 03-03-2010, 04:38 PM If I'm not mistaken the only players left to tender are JC, C.Rogers, and Monty. What time is the deadline to tender RFA's? I wonder if they're waiting until the last minute to see if they can work out a trade before the deadline? |
