Anyone else read this? I couldn't disagree more with this:

Losing the offseason | Warpath Confidential (http://web.warpathconfidential.com/?p=3230)

That article fails to understand that it is arguably more important to change the team culture than it is to change the team personnel.

What about Montre Holland the OG from Dallas we're trying to score? Y'all trying to tell me he's not better than Will Montgomery? He wouldn't give Dock a run for the money?

i think hicks was a great signing for his versatility alone. he may not even start if Rinehart continues to impresses Shanahan. If both of them play equally well, the edge goes to rinehart, as it would minimize the line shufling required if another player goes down. I like the idea of hicks being our #1 backup at all the guard and tackle positions. IMO his best shot to start is RT unless we fill that need elsewhere in the offseason. We don't have a starting caliber LT on the team at this point. Clifton was the only "quality" one out there and i'm using that term loosely. If the position isnt somehow addressed before (or during) the draft, i'm very scared for whoever is our QB in 2010.

there is enough tape and clifton has started enough in the NFL for us to get a feel for what clifton would bring . . .

but how would any of us know pashos would be an upgrade? hes just a name im going to assume me and you never heard of until a month ago.

if you knew the 49ers backup o lineman who started what, 4 games last year, then kudos to you. but i doubt that im handing out kudos for a tony pashos.
I do imagine that our OL coach (who was SF's last year I believe) knows him, so I hope if he had wanted him we would have pushed harder for him.

Still, lots of holes to be filled either from inside or FA/Draft.

A) I am Stephon Heyer
B) I am Stephon Heyer's agent
c) I am a close relative of Stephon Heyer
D) I plan on betting against the Redskins in 2010 and ensuring Stephon Heyer starts at RT is the best way to ensure the Redskins lose as many games as possible

Just a word of caution on Holland that you should be aware of.

1. He is the ONLY Unrestricted Free Agent Dallas has and they dont want to resign him.

2. He was acquired in a trade with Denver in 2008 for a 5th round pick. Denver was glad to be rid of him as he had a bevy of fines from the team for consistently showing up to camp overweight and out of shape.

3. Since arriving in Dallas he has not had any real measurable playing time, he is WAAAAY down the depth chart behind guys like Free, Proctor and McQuistan. Free and Proctor are very good, but if anyone is BELOW McQuistan on the depth chart, that person should consider a career change.

Just wanted you guys to be aware of what we as fans have had to endure since acquiring Holland.

from the sounds of it, we did want him - we just didnt want to spend more on him. as someone else mentioned, its a very odd time for this team to suddenly start being frugal. in an capped year, the skins would be doing exactly what the should be. however, with no cap, there's no reason to not get the guy you want because he wants 1-2MM more than you initially wanted to pay.

youforgot one more option:

E) i dont pretend to know more than I do.

honestly. pashos could very well = a stephen heyer.

holland could very well = a mike williams

dont pick names out of a hat and act like "ohh we should have done this or we should have done that".

im just having trouble understanding fans who are mad we arent signing these no name guys . . . .when we the fans know nothing other than their name and postion.

sandtrapps post highlights that. ohh an o lineman is available? lets sign him and we are 1/5th done with assembling our o line!!!

DOH!!

He played for Shanahan so if we pick him up then I am sure he will fit.
