It was to sign, but that has apparently fallen through at the moment Giantone 03-08-2010, 09:14 AM The main thing they said that stuck with me was that his knee is now bone against bone because of it's inability to heal properly and that's definitely not a good sign if true. That's what was fixed, from all real reports ,rehab is going well. Giantone 03-08-2010, 09:16 AM meh giantone is nothing more than a jackass troll nowadays, worse than some of the dallas fans ......class. Giantone 03-08-2010, 09:22 AM Don't tell Giantone, he will start talking about Phat Al getting winded. I will take a guy who gets tired over a guy who needs a knee replacement. Is this really a surprise? Phillips was a free safety who was playing at a high level before he got hurt. The Giants, who have a lot of holes on defense, choose to spend 37 million on.....a free safety. ...see post #951 Pocket$ $traight 03-08-2010, 09:25 AM ...see post #951 What did you think Coughlin was going to say? "Thank goodness we overpaid Rolle, because Phillips is toast". Giantone 03-08-2010, 09:57 AM What did you think Coughlin was going to say? "Thank goodness we overpaid Rolle, because Phillips is toast". ..............it's a non cap year.If Phillips was"toast"...as you say ...why not just pay him and cut him? Lotus 03-08-2010, 10:05 AM ...see post #951 Yes, let's return to that post. In that scenario either Phillips or Rolle must move to strong safety. So tell me which scenario will play out: 1) you just paid record safety money for a guy to change positions, or 2) you are counting on a guy who can hardly walk right now to switch positions Neither scenario sounds very good to me. Giantone 03-08-2010, 10:20 AM Yes, let's return to that post. In that scenario either Phillips or Rolle must move to strong safety. So tell me which scenario will play out: 1) you just paid record safety money for a guy to change positions, or 2) you are counting on a guy who can hardly walk right now to switch positions Neither scenario sounds very good to me. Looking at it like that I understand but not very many people have that view and according to Rolle he can't wait to play with Phillips ....no matter what position. BigHairedAristocrat 03-08-2010, 10:22 AM I would like to echo the sentiments of those of you who are somewhat "concerned" about how our roster is shaping up. Friday, we cut 10 players, 8-9 of whom (when healthy) would have been on our 45-man gameday roster. So far, we've only signed one guy. Now, there's still plenty of time for further roster upgrades. free agency isnt over and there's still the draft. However, we've only got 5 draft picks and only 2 of those picks could legitimately be expected to make the 45-man gameday roster. i generally agree with all the cuts that were made - but why cut a guy if you're not going to replace him with someone better? i understand the free agent class is/was somewhat weak, but why didn't we lock up pashos, for example? we need help at both tackle positions and he would have been a huge upgrade over heyer. i am glad we didnt go out and try to sign everyone, like we have done in years past, but i feel that perhaps shanahan and allen are being a bit too frugal. they keep saying they have a plan, but i dont see how any possible plan will result in this team having more talent on the roster in 2010 than it did in 2009 if we end up filling most of the holes with 4th-tier free agents and undrafted rookies... which is what it looks like we'll be doing now. on a side note, someone on ES claims DCsportsradio sent a twitter saying another team offered us a trade for a player and that, if it happens, it will happen today. someone there suggested Landry for Gathier would be a good trade, and I agree. we've got too many good strong safeties on the roster and we need a left tackle. |
