Al Davis isn't what I would call cheap owner.

I was talking about Tampa's owners.

And even when Allen was in Oakland, he wasn't making the decisions, so Oakland is really irrelevant.

I wish the NFL could do something about teams like Tampa though. Theyre so cheap its disgusting.

i dont think sproles had a great year last year stat wise. didnt he avg 3.5 yds or something per carry. less than 700 yds?

imo id pass on sproles and look at chester taylor.

As I've alluded to before they're not so much cheap as much as they are maxed out financially. For goodness sake they own and NFL franchise and the second most recognizable soccer franchise in the world in Manchester United with a 700 Million Euro debt.

However they should have strongly considered this situation before they bought Man U. If I were them I would sell the Buc's and focus on Man U.

He had 343 yard rushing, 497 receiving, 1300 on kick returns, and 183 on punt returns. You don't think we could use 2323 all purpose yards?

Yup. When I get bummed about my own crushing personal debt, I thank my lucky stars that I'm not more than a billion dollars in debt, as the Glazers are. Yikes.

I would prefer Sproles, but Chester Taylor would be my second pick to fill #2 RB...but I think after OLine our biggest need is at RB. We are getting old their and injury prone, sounds like our OLine issue bout 3 years ago and we never addressed it...then the bottom fell out

are we going to pay him special teams money?

Where Julius Peppers, Darren Sproles, NFL free agents will sign - Don Banks - SI.com (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/don_banks/03/03/free.agents/index.html?xid=si_nfl)

Lovely quote from an unnamed NFL executive:
Washington will throw money around like it's playing Monopoly

Supports what I mentioned about Shanny showing he's free spender in his own right.

I would expect we would sign him to a 4 year deal, I know if franchised he would have gotten 7 Mill, so probably something along the line of 10-13 guaranteed. of course I really have 0 way of knowing and am purely speculating based on what he is gonna want.
