CRedskinsRule 02-25-2010, 09:07 PM Well, with what I have heard, I still think that the best avenue would be to trade DOWN, and pick up a third rounder. Draft Bruce campbell late in the first round, around the 25-27 pick. With the second round pick, YOU GOTTA GET CIRON BLACK. The guy is a BEAST and is being overlooked right now. Then in the third, and ive been saying this for two onths now, assuming the trade down occurs, u gotta get Newhouse from TCU. Right there, we have Both tackles, a guard to go with Dock, and Rabach gets one season to redeem hisself. Not a bad line, alot of youth, but a GREAT base for our outlook for next season, drafting Jake Locker at any cost. Agree? Doable?
Just a couple questions.
25-27 is Baltimore, Arizona, and Dallas. Which one would trade with us? For who.
If I understand you want to trade the 4th pick overall for a late first and a late 3rd?
If we did do that trade, and assuming we are an avg team 7-9 thru 8-8, we would be picking around 13-16, so we would have to trade back up to get Locker, as you say at any cost, so then we are costing future picks again.
Pocket$ $traight 02-25-2010, 09:25 PM I rather like the idea of giving them LL and getting one of their OT's from them. I know someone on the site pointed out that we might be able to help each other out, but can't remember who...
Sounds great, Vinny! I think that improving the current Super Bowl Champion and a conference opponent is a great idea. Let's throw in a 2nd and 6th too so they don't shop around...
This Laron Landry bashing is officially in the retarded stage.
Someone give me one team that he wouldn't start immediately on. In fact he would probably be the starting FS or SS on almost every team in the league.
Defensewins 02-25-2010, 09:26 PM This was on the recent CNNSI mock draft about us possibly taking Bradford,
"With the Redskins' evaluation of quarterback Jason Campbell very much ongoing, this pick obviously has the potential to change to the offensive tackle that Washington so desperately needs. We could go Oklahoma State tackle Russell Okung, and maybe we should. But for now, we're sticking with the headline-loving Redskins taking Bradford on the presumption that his throwing shoulder checks out healthy and Mike Shanahan falls in love with the kid during the combine interview process."
Why do we still get these kind of comments? I call BS.
It is funny that most mock draft shows Okung still there when we pick at #4. When need and talent collide like this to me it is a no brainer to take Okung. In past drafts when need and talent collided and lands in our lap gift wrapped like this (Champ Bailey, Samuels, Arrington, Sean Taylor) it really work for us. Why fight it?
Mechanix544 02-25-2010, 09:27 PM Arizona could use a new franchise QB.........Ravens do need recievers......(Santana for a third rounder possibly........) that way we could keep our first and second round picks, draft Okung at the 4 spot, and then hopefully trade up somehow 6-7 spots to snag Campbell late in the first. AND we still have our third rounder, which we could still get Newhouse for our interior, and put those three rookies together right off the bat, what a great group to solidify the line for, like I said, Locker next year. Hey, our owner will spend the cash, he has proven that. Noone said that winning was cheap. But its not always a bad thing to trade away draft picks to pick up a franchise QB such as Locker, especially for a group that can spend alot in FA.
.500 this year, ...........I, well, i just dont know what to say to you. Thanks for being a fan?
These are just one persons views, but I think they are a good idea.......not everyone will agree, I know that, but, it makes perfect sense to me. Gotta get young talent to learn that zone blocking scheme, and get em ready as a group to protect our future, LOCKER!!!!!

I agree winning isn't cheap, and some time you give up a pick to get a vital piece, but Locker still has another year in college, and we have the 4 spot this year. Again, not saying that a QB is the only choice, but not ruling it out either
.500 this year, ...........I, well, i just dont know what to say to you. Thanks for being a fan?Are you saying we will be better because if so, a) that makes the cost to get Locker even higher and b)the chance we would reach for any qb even less. Heck I will be hoping for a SB, but right now with our schedule, fluctuations on the line, and uncertainty at the QB spot, I think 500 is a reasonable position for a fan to project.

That's not a Vinny move, and I wasn't bashing LL, I recognize he is valuable and we could trade him and get an equally valuable piece for our team. So we can't trade with anyone in our conference or any teams that were in the playoffs, going off your "improving the SB champ/conference statement". But they have alot of the best talent, and if we both improve our teams then it is the "win-win" scenario.

I am not big on filling a big hole and creating an equal one. Plus, do we even know that their tackles fit in our system?
I would trade Landry for a pro-bowl quality tackle who fits perfectly in Shanny's system. That is it.
Trample the Elderly 02-25-2010, 10:27 PM I'm not buying into all of this, "we gotta get this guy or we've got to get this guy!" again this year. The only guy I can say we have to get, is the best damn offensive lineman we can. There is no effing way you can give me the name of some hot shot safety, rb, or some douche QB!
The Skins have five positions of absolute need. RT, RG, C, LG, and LT.
I don't want to hear about, "oh, jeez Tramp, you don't do that in one off season, nobody does that!" In a sane world you'd be right. You see there's only one guy on the line that can play, and that's Dock. The Bills didn't release him because he was all that!
Let the current D, and the "so-called" pantheon of WRs we have live up to mediocre and we'll be alright. Without a line . . . .
Trample the Elderly 02-25-2010, 10:28 PM What's the shimmy on the Lineman this year? Anybody make up a list yet?

Was Laron in the Pro Bowl? Did I miss that? We have others who could step into Landry's position far better than OT's we have now. Why would any other team trade a probowler for a underperforming player. I think GW would lobby for Landry, and we could get a solid OT in the process. I think this would make sense, but i would be fine keeping Landry as well.
