Thoughts on what Joe will be discussing today at 5pm? I read he will be commenting on the loss yesterday and status of injuries, particularly Morton and Lott.

I imagine we'll get a restarined as possible discussion of the phantom motion call as well as the obligatory "we should played better and not gotten ourselves into that situation" mantra. I'd also bet he is more impressed with our offensive effort and thinks we are real close to breaking it open. Of course the defense was great.

yes I would tend to agree... I'm sure someone from the peanut gallery is going to ask him about the QB situation and he'll probably say something like that was decided in August and we'll stand by Mark blah blah blah

Well it's now 5:25 and I'm still waiting for Joe to address the media... the skins website said approximately 5pm but this is getting beyond fashionably late. Wake me up when the party's over boys!

On Injuries:
Chad Morton and Andre Lott are out for the season.
John Hall is getting closer to returning, but he is still day to day.

On Being Pleased with the Defense:
The D limited RB Green to 3.0 ypc and that was great. The Defense is simply great, especially the corners.

Referring to the Portis-TD that was called back:
Gibbs said "we made a play to win the game, but calls are inconsistent." There was nothing wrong with what we did on that play. Gibbs said he sent the play into the NFL front office to appeal the ruling on the field.

On fans calling for Ramsey:
He never thought for a second to put Ramsey in, the fans booing had no impact on his decision to keep Brunell in the game. He was very comfortable with Brunell's play. Everyone is frustrated including Gibbs.

On Rod Gardner:
Rod Gardner is very competitive, he's a big guy, very strong.

On What Has Hurt Us:
We haven't been able to get into the endzone. We haven't been getting the ball downfield.

On Converting 3rd downs:
We were not very good at converting on 3rd down. We had errant throws and some bad pass protection sometimes.

On Pass Protection:
We haven't been nearly as efficient as we'd like to be.

On Rushing:
Anytime you're down by 17, it's hard to get a lot of rushes in. We would've liked to have been able to get more rushes in since we had a 4.2 or 4.3 ypc.

Thanks for the quick review RF. No rumblings on Ramsey playing anytime soon was there?

Just to add to what RamseyFan posted. Gibbs was pretty livid about that penalty. He said it's something they've done as long as he's been coach. It's part of the offense, the receiver goes in motion, stops and picks up the safety blitz.

He said he was sending the NFL front office three other instances on Sunday when they ran the same play and no flag was thrown

Here we go again with a league apology a few days later and nothing of substance actually happening. What if ref crews were evaluated like the MLB does with quest-tech? I bet guys wouldn't be so willing to to toss flags on ticky tack plays if they were going to be fined or pulled off post season crews. I know they have an evaluation system in place but something has to be done to stop this nonsense. The man in motion call followed by the non-call on the obvious pass interefence were a ridiculous sequence of events.
The Lott injury is going to heap a whole lot (no pun intended) of pressure on ST's shoulders. Hope his fall break helped him refocus on the task at hand.

I can't blame Gibbs for being ticked about that call, we all should be pissed about it. It was bogus. I've seen it a half dozen times now and there's no way that should have been called. We were robbed, again.

I suppose these two items weren't Brunells fault according to Gibbs, especially the "errant throws."
