Pierce and Fletch as ILBs, anyone, anyone? LOL. Seriously though, what happened to the Giants D? They went from being the dominant unit of the team just a season ago to this. I wonder if they will cut Osi too?

Is it possible it's because Spags left to coach Rams?

Non-football comment:

My son, 12 and a NYG fan :(, and I went to NYC for his 10th Bday. He wanted a jersey so bad, I got him Pierce because of his Redskins ties. He and I went to the Fedex MNF game this year with him wearing it. So this is a bummer to me, because of that kinda weird bonding thing that happens there.

On the football side,
If Pierce came back and had the same grudge toward the Giants as he did to us, I would be ok with it. But it's not gonna make or break my off-season glee.

Letting Pierce go to the Giants was the Skins' biggest mistake of the past decade (and that's saying a lot). He revamped their D and was the single biggest reason they won the Bowl.

Doghouse or not if they are letting him go his injury issues must be serious.

I wish him the best of luck but we don't need him here, we have to get young quick.

Look for the Saints (Gregg Williams) or the Rams (Spags) to look at him.

He's 32 and coming off a neck injury. I think it's also safe to say he's lost a step, perhaps a step he never had to begin with.

Why on earth would we want to bring back an injured 31 year old 4-3 middle linebacker when we're switching to a 3-4 system? It makes absolutely no sense and would be about as stupid and short-sighted as 90% of the stuff we did when Vinny and Danny were running the show.

I said it in the other threads discussing Pierce and i'll repeat myself here. No thanks. Not even for the vet minimum in an uncapped year.

Well that's just silly, because that's basically saying we have 6 linebackers on our roster who are better than Antonio Pierce. It's just not true.

With the cap no longer an issue, don't even bother talking about salary. It's a non-factor. He'd be an upgrade over what we have on the bench.

But he shouldn't unseat Fletcher, he would have to earn a starting spot if he even can, and he shouldn't be counted on for very much.

GW won't take him cuz he's the one who let him go. GW figured all we needed was Lemar Marshall and GW's defensive "genius".

Cocky pr*ck killed our 2006 season, the year it should have all come together for Gibbs II.

Pierce wants to stay in the division and we need LB's...sounds good to me. Sign him to the vet min. with no signing bonus. If we pick up someone in the draft or FA who performs better, cut him.
