Offense: All in all, they played better, but it was still bad.
Mark Brunell: He deserved the boo's. He couldn't even make the simple passes. Thanks to a few spectacular grabs he got over 100 yards!
Rod Gardner: He's been impressing for the most part all season. I think if we could get some sort of consistancy in the passing game he's our #1 guy.
Lavernous Coles: I can't spell his name, but Gibbs finally started running him over the middle how Spurrier used him so effectively.
Taylor Jacobs: Finally good to see him getting into the games. I've been high on him since we drafted him and he made some great grabs this week.
Clinton Portis: Played tough, got two HORRIBLE calls go against him. The TD fiasco and after that they called him down after he kept himself up with his arm. UGH.
O-Line: Played decent all game. Opened some holes for Portis, pass blocking was solid. Not spectacular plays and they got pressure with 4 a few times, but they gave us enough of a chance to make plays.
Chris Cooley: Had a couple good plays. I'd like to see more from him.
Defense:
Cornelious Griffin: I was sceptical of this guy coming in, but jesus he's been great for us! Keeps his motor going and grinding.
Ryan Clark: BIG GAME. He got exposed a few times. Laid some big hits and some big plays.
Walt Harris: Came in and forced a fumble. Good work.
Pierce/Washington: Solid game from both. Washington with the FF from the 3 point stance. GREAT PLAY!
Cornerbacks: These guys are great. I'm thinking Champ who? Couldn't be happier with them!
All in all, another good showing. Forced more turnovers, but gave up too many yards. When you're missing big starters that happens.
Special Teams:
Didn't hurt us, didn't do anything special. Good coverage for the most part. Getting better!
Coaching:
Greg Williams: Redskins MVP as far as I'm concerned. Some good play-calling, bad execution at times. Getting thin as far as players he can rotate in and out.
Joe Gibbs: Bad clock management, bad personel decesions (Brunell.) As you guys know I'm a huge Spurrier fan and nothing Gibbs has done has been much different thus far, however it's foolish to say "fire him." The man is a good coach, and I am skeptical to see if he still has what it takes to win. He can call the game, but he needs to stop being so stubborn. That being said, I give every coach three years, and if it looks somewhat promising four. He's no exception to the rule and give the guy a break. We've lost almost as many games by botched calls as we lost by defensive letdowns last year. We'll be ok once we get rid of the B man.
Officiating: Horrible. Motion on James Thrash... Where? The flag was late. CONSPIRACY CONSPIRACY! After GB had a huge lead Portis broke a tackle, they called him down. Suspect PI calls, then we get a 5 yard penelty on an obvious PI call. Simply outraging. I really shouldn't have this type of emotional investment in sports. I'm going to die of an anurism!
