Why Brown over Lefevour? I would take Sheehan from Bowling Green over Brown also. Hell, I am still liking Kafka. Brown is a trememdous athlete, don't get me wrong, but you want a Brady/Manning/Brees/Rivers type if you want to get to the big dance. Brains(being able to read Ds and the field) and a cannon arm, combined with some decent mobility is the nice equation you want. I think this move in the NFL towards a more mobile atheltic QB isn't panning out as expected. Randal Cunningham was the first guy to entice the NFL with his moves, then McNabb, then Vick. These guys have been in what, one SB combined? If JC could read the D better and also be a bit quicker at checking his WRs he would be our guy hands down and there wouldn't be any debate at all. Hopefully Shanny can help him out. He is a great guy and has the tools, justs needs to be refined by a master craftsman.

If you're going to work on a project get the one with the most upside. Brown appears to be a throw first QB rather than a runner. He improved WVU's passing game after White left. He also improved during the week of Senior Bowl practices. He ran a spread at WVU so there's some concern there, but so many teams run it in college. I think Lefevour, Kakfa, Pike, etc. are what they are, good college QBs that don't have big time NFL arms and will take a few years to transition into solid NFL back-ups. Brown is raw but under Shanahan could develop into more than a back-up.
