New Uniforms? Summo on Redskins.com!WaldSkins 01-31-2010, 05:32 PM let's just go old school! MPNRedskins 01-31-2010, 06:38 PM Man, it's amazing how much a year can change things. Last year, I posted a thread about possibly changing the Redskins uniforms and I get scolded by a lot of people for wanting to change the look of our team. Ok, off my soapbox. :soapbox: I do like a lot of the jersey ideas posted on here, especially Summo. I think you will see a uniform change in the near future if fans keep talking about it. While the current unis are nice and were from the good ol' days, I think it's time to "spice things up" and have a fresh new look. dmek25 02-14-2010, 10:36 PM Shanahan, Allen talk Redskins uniform colors Posted by Michael David Smith on February 14, 2010 6:51 PM ET Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen have a lot of big decisions ahead of them in rebuilding a franchise coming off a 4-12 season. And apparently there's no item too trivial to get Shanahan and Allen's attention. Dan Steinberg of the Washington Post reports that Allen said on a recent episode of Redskins Nation that he and Shanahan have had discussions about the color schemes of the Redskins' uniforms. "I'm very proud of the Redskins uniform, and I'm very proud of our helmet," Allen said. "I'm talking to Coach Shanahan about some ideas that we have of utilizing our colors that we're very proud of." The bottom line is that the Redskins want to incorporate throwback uniforms, but they're not going to add black to their color scheme. 53Fan 02-14-2010, 10:51 PM Shanahan, Allen talk Redskins uniform colors Posted by Michael David Smith on February 14, 2010 6:51 PM ET Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and General Manager Bruce Allen have a lot of big decisions ahead of them in rebuilding a franchise coming off a 4-12 season. I saw that and it does sound like they may have some things in mind as far as the uniforms go. Allen said he was around when the helmet was designed. skinsfaninok 02-14-2010, 11:39 PM i'M ALL FOR A UNIFORM CHANGE.. Our jersey's are traditional but they are so bland.. Plus when you look good you play good lol SBXVII 02-15-2010, 01:07 AM I welcome the change. I have liked all the helmet designes... "arrow", "R", and the "indian head." I'm just bored with the white shirt burgundy pants and the burgundy shirt and white pants. I don't mind throw backs so long as there is a drastic upgrade or tweek to them. I simply can't see us wearing yellow pants with simple stripes again. Some people have put a feather on the side of them and they look awsome to me. I'd still prefer if we went with a more traditional "gold" color. The yellow we wear is not the teams colors. I get so tired of people bending the truth by saying "well it's a shade of gold". No it's not it's yellow. Lets get back to gold. Go Google burgundy and gold and look at the images. It's beautiful unlike our burgundy and yellow. It's not our uniforms that are keeping us from being a competitive football team. If anything longstanding should change it should be our owner's lust for marquee players with no informed way of implementing them. I'd take a change of that over any concern over what the hell we're wearing on Sundays. The topic of a uniform change from a front office perspective is about as pointless as knowing the team's ring sizes. The fact that BA and MS are actually spending time on this subject is ridiculous. You wan't to change the uniform - fine, but have your marketing/design/whatever other personel the Redskins have take care of it. I don't care if we change the uniforms, but at least assign the responsibility to the proper people within the organization...not the people that should be focusing on football. MTK 02-15-2010, 04:36 PM Whatever changes would have to be signed off by the powers that be, so I don't see why they wouldn't be involved to some degree along the way. JLW428 02-15-2010, 05:01 PM Sure, they will be involved eventually, but in the design stage? I see them getting involved when its time to sign off on the ideas that have been set in stone. If they're involved at a level right now where they can be addressing the media over it - it's too much. IMO they should be worried about football right now, not cosmetics. |
