Thinking about it all, i think we should try to incorporate some nostalgia. Sumo's design is a nice touch...especially the script on the sleeve.
To me, our current incarnation of white on white/ burgandy on burgandy, etc...is just a reminder of the epic fail that this franchise has been the last 2 years.
I agree with the other posters who feel that a jersey change is a nice way to refresh things and get us a different identity going forward....

Congrats on the recognition, Summo.
I've seen most of those since I'm an active member on the Chris Creamer logo site. Of all of them, I love the first one the most. Throwback + current set = that one, perfection. The set from "Yurk" is great too, but didn't show a helmet, so I'm assuming we'd keep the current one. Fine with me; it looks great, especially since they added the metallic a few years back.
Your graphical talent is great Summo, but it's too Nike-ish with the piping and too modern for my tastes. We have always had a classic look that I don't think we should stray too far from.
Last night on Redskins Nation, Matt Terl and Larry Michael confirmed nothing is officially in the works, it was just a rumor sparked from his post. :D
Actually the rumor was floating around before Terl's post.

Thursday, January 28: A New Uniform That Didn't Happen (http://blog.redskins.com/2010/01/28/thursday-january-28-a-new-uniform-that-didnt-happen/)
I truly hope we NEVER add a black jersey or incorporate black into our uniforms (except for the Indian's hair of course).
It's an trend that far too many teams in all sports started last decade and needs to end. Unnecessary black just to add black is pointless and usually looks bad. Only the Detroit Lions pulled it off decently. Let's keep our color scheme intact.
Look how hideous the Eagles look in their black jerseys. I don't want that to be us. We WOULD look bad in black.
The Mets are another example of black ruining uniforms.
Zorn would love these but I want to puke:

It's always floating around. We have several threads a year about it.
No, this was a specific one. About a week ago a little bird told me a new "jersey" was in the works, not sure if this means a new full time jersey or if it's an alternate/throwback type. Just that something was definitely in the pipeline.

I just wanted to modernize the current uniform without going overboard. As I said before they have one of the classic logos and unis in the history of the NFL. If they are going to change they should be looking ahead not back i.e. the spear logo. I like the spear very much but it should be kept with the throw back uni's.
I also wanted to include the script "R" on the jersey. That logo has only been used on sideline apparel and never as part of the uniform. But I didn't want to over do it with logos.
There are two examples that I wanted to avoid with this design. The first being the Ravens. They have one logo on their helmet, a second on their sleeve and a third on their pants! It logo overload!!
The second is the Panthers, they have the same logo on their helmet, sleeve and pants and it looks ridiculous!
As for getting recognition form the team over the design, I doubt it. It probably won’t go any further then it already has. If they change the uni’s it will probably be something similar but it will be a little different from mine so that way they protect them selves from some fan claiming that they designed it, like the situation the Ravens had over their original helmet logo. Thanks to all for the kind comments.
did you win or know the results for the "most displaced fan" video contest?

No I dind't win or even place. A steeler fan living in Kentucky won. He sang a song as a Steeler zombie because his wife turned off his NFL Sunday ticket. I have a new plan for next years video that hopefully place.

If we ever get a new uniform, it either needs to:
1) be very retro and sport the traditional logo; or
2) Be very modern and NOT have the indian on the helmet
I just dont see the two mixing well. honestly, i'd prefer ditching the indian entirely and going with the cursive "R" or something else, such as a modified version of the arrow or something like that.
