I hate maddenesque trade ideas.
Landry for Rhodes?Schneed10 01-26-2010, 04:55 PM I hate maddenesque trade ideas. SFREDSKIN 01-26-2010, 05:01 PM Only if the Jets throw in Leon Washington in addition. FRPLG 01-26-2010, 05:13 PM I'd do that in a heartbeat. I could see why that would be appealing to the Jets, but we would be ripping them the heck off. I tend to agree. I am done with Landry's neanderthal approach to the position. diehardskin2982 01-26-2010, 05:15 PM No way!!! IMO Landry has not reached his top as a player and can be better in the right defense. I would like to see how he does in the new system and hopefully in the right position (strong safety). I would like for us to sign Anthony Bethea or Ryan Clark, if either of the two hit the free agent market. Until Laron plays SS, the position for which he was drafted it is not smart to trade him. It's like the example of Antrel Rolle for the Cardinals, not until he was switched to FS did he start to make an impact. He was a bust at CB, star at safety. Lotus 01-26-2010, 05:21 PM Why bother with a trade? There is a strong chance that the Jets will cut Rhodes. Then we could sign him, if we wanted, and not give up anything. CultBrennan59 01-26-2010, 05:45 PM A) Is Horton going to be our starter next year at FS or LaRon? B) Is Rhodes a better FS than LL? C) If A & B are true, than lets trade Laron for him and a few picks D) It's prefectly fine if we don't do C) because we have LARGER needs at other positions, safety we have depth, especially at SS EARTHQUAKE2689 01-26-2010, 05:52 PM I would do it on a new York minute, He may be younger but I saw Jason Witten leave Landry in the dust, so faster, I would disagree that has more to do with route running and playing coverage BleedBurgundy 01-26-2010, 05:54 PM A) Is Horton going to be our starter next year at FS or LaRon? That would be a straight up deal, no way in hell do we get multiple picks out of it. freddyg12 01-26-2010, 05:56 PM Landry hasn't endeared himself to us, that's for sure. His lowlights have not been followed by highlights much the last couple years. He should be on the verge of maturing though, you'd have to if you keep seeing film of yourself getting burnt, committing dumb penalties, etc. So I would say no to such a trade unless they gave up more. On the subject of safeties, I've noticed that a few here have said it is a position of need. I'm surprised at that. I think it's one of the deepeset positions on the team. I think Kareem Moore has looked good & will earn more pt next year, plus Horton & Doughty at SS. The rook Holmes might be able to stick around too. wolfeskins 01-26-2010, 05:57 PM that has more to do with route running and playing coverage i agree. i'd like to see LL playing close to the line and blitzing more often. |
