Move Haiti to the top of my list of "Places I am glad I don't live"

What a disaster.

That's too bad. I don't want to pay for it. I hope they can rebuild their hovels. Good luck.

People should think about giving to a relief agency, people over there really dont have anything...shoes and cloths along with clean drinking water is considered luxuries. I remember speaking with a lady who went over there about 5-6 years ago with her church for a goodwill-like mission. She said the first thing thats hits you is the smell coming off the airplane of trash, pollution, etc. She said it was shocking to the core of how impoverish the entire population is. Its the definition of 3rd world country. Again, please try to give.

The US shouldn't be the world's policeman or saviour.

ok im not making any political statements about what our government shouldnt or should do nor trying to create an arguement...giving is a personal choice. Being close neighbors it would be cool for people with so much to give to others with so little.

I'm making a political statement. What I'm saying is that giving is not a personal choice. I already "paid" for the money to buy that hospital ship that's going down there. I also paid for all of the "Aid" that's been given to them over the years. So you can ask for handouts for them if you want, I commend you and your big heart. I've already given against my will. If you want to give, how about giving to the poor people in the mountains? They're just as poor as the Haitians. How about all of the homeless in Richmond? Those people are your neighbors, not the Haitians.

the elevator screen in my bldg told me "hundred of thousands have died". if thats their early estimate i dont want to know what the final tally is.

is there an honest to goodness real charity organization to give to that doesnt use 84 cents out of every dolar on adminstrative expenses?
