Who plays the inside linebacker positions? Fletch seems too small.

Without Orakpo and Chris Wilson, we probably wouldn't have the personnel, but with them, it's not an issue.

NT Aubrayo Franklin is a UFA for San Francisco, and while I generally don't like to pay guys coming off career years, salary structure among DL players is so whacky it hardly matters. The highest payed player in the Eagles front seven is...Darren Howard.

Here's Scouts' take on Franklin:
Comment: Franklin has the strength and leverage skills to be effective against the run. He does a good job of recognizing blocking schemes and is quick to attack with his hands. He is tough to move off the ball due his low center of gravity and his ability to stack inside. He does a good job of occupying blocks and allowing linebackers to make plays. He has limited range on the outside. He is also somewhat limited as a pass-rusher due to a lack of speed and moves. He relies primarily on power to create an inside push and has an effective bull rush.

He seems to have had solid back to back years:
2008 46 tkl, 33 solo, 1 sacks, 2 ff
2209 36 tkl, 25 solo, 2 sacks, 1 int

I would imagine that he'd be a younger option than Casey Hampton and less expensive than Vince Wilfork.

He'll be franchised by the 49ers. I gurantee it.49ers plan to franchise Franklin | ProFootballTalk.com (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/11/20/49ers-plan-to-franchise-franklin/)

It's hard to honestly see Fletcher as an every down player at age 35, no matter what scheme we play. For two years now, he's been very well protected within a scheme. It goes both ways though. We could afford to protect him because we knew he would not miss tackles even if he was the only guy at the ball.

In the 3-4, Fletcher would be marginalized, but he absolutely could do the job.

f*** Haynesworth, he needs to shut the hell up and be happy with his massive contract and play his fat ass off...on a lighter note, I'm pretty happy just to have someone established on the payroll as the defensive coordinator
when you've got a guy whose biggest complaints are that he's not able to give you his full potential in the way that you're using him I believe that you should listen

we were all complaining about blache using his linemen just to occupy the defenders (more of a 3-4 thing if I'm not mistaken) and not allowing a true pass rush.. now we wanna bitch that people want to rush the passer? he was complaining that he WASN'T earning his paycheck, yes.. in those words.. by the way he was being used, I'll take that any day

what the hell is going on?

I'm more than willing to embrace that observation because I find little fault in a guy complaining about wanting to do more, as opposed to being criticized for doing less.

Last year is over and done with, we'll have a new staff in place that I'm sure is well aware of Albert's discontent and will find ways to maximize his talents. As far as I'm concerned he has a clean slate and a new beginning.

You do what's best for the team, and Haynesworth doesn't get to decide what is best -- the coaches do. Rushing the passer is great, but that is not the only important thing on defense. So, in short, Haynesworth should shut-up and do what he's told to by the coaches. Sure, they could be wrong, but you just don't openly question your boss' abilities and imply that you know better.
