It looks like we have interviewed Jerry Gray again and Jim Haslett as well.. Romeo Crennel would be a nice addition as well. I figured we would be switching to a 3-4 scheme. What does this mean for Albert Haynesworth?

I wonder if McClain would be option at #4 pick if we switch to the 3-4

It means Haynesworth would probably be a DE. I think it's a terrible idea to switch to a 3-4.

Agreed, where are these linebackers going to come from. Fletcher is a beast as a 4-3 Mike. In the case that we did switch defenses I would personally like to see a 46. A 3-4 requires a huge commitment, Green Bay was able to make that change quickly because they successfully brought in two highly talented rookies that were perfect fits as well as one of the best 3-4 coordinators in the league. We don't have the luxury to spend picks on defense and the free agent market is full of fruit thats close to it's due date.
I wouldn't be opposed to a 3-4 hybrid where we gradually transitioned but I don't want to see a full commitment until we get the offense sorted out.

I found this in a St Louis newspaper when Haslett was being considered for Rams job
Haslett has used a number of different defensive schemes. He was part of Pittsburgh’s staff in the 1990s that used a 3-4, but he has used a lot of 4-3 since then, incorporating a lot of the blitz emphasis that the Steelers used.
I dont think he means we change to a 3-4 like Florio says.

I would rather have a 4-3 because AH is a DOMINANT DT.. If we were to move him to DE, who know's if he would fit or not.. ON the flipside, we could use RAK just like Dallas uses Ware! Looks like Haslett will be the guy.

He could still be a dominant DE in a 3-4 in the Richard Seymour mold, twice Seymour has matched Haynesworth career high in sacks (8). I'm not sold though on Orakpo as a stand up OLB. I think he does better when he comes out of his 4 point stance that you see when he lines up at DE.

why wouldn't AH be a nose tackle in a 3-4 system???

I want to know what what Shanny was evaluating when he decided that he did want to switch. To me we don't have the personnel to run this scheme.

We would still need a NT, so assuming we could get a trade partner to trade down in the first we could feasibly draft Terrance Cody(Alabama), Brandon Spikes(Florida), and then select someone like Charles Brown(USC) with our first three picks. I guess this would please the Jason Campbell fans.
