I think I just heard (from the breakroom to my cube) that the Redskins have donated $500K to the Haiti rescue effort. Good move on DS part if so. Would make me feel a little better about the outrageous amounts charged for tickets/concessions,etc..
My opinions are strickly related to football and always have been,I'll never question the mans heart or generosity.

Snyder should definitely shoulder the blame for our struggles. He has made mistakes, lots of them.
But there seems to be this strange hatred of the man. I can't hate the guy for his football mistakes. If I thought he was cheap or didn't bust his ass to try and win then I could hate the guy. Vinny was an ass. He didn't care as much about winning as he did about looking good and staying in power->Hate. DS...not at all. People can say all they want about his football acumen and they'd be right to criticize vigorously but I just don't see all the hate.
Yeah bro I'm with ya 100%, I cant understand the whole 'hate' thing either. Plenty to criticize, plenty to love about the Danny. I believe he has learned enough hard lessons over the past 10 years and with the new FO structure and some winning seasons his public perception will change into a positive one.

I think if Snyder was about 6'2 and was 55 when he bought the team rather than 5'5 and 35 there would be a very different perception of him. From the jump the media portrayed him, fairly in many cases, of being a snot nosed rich 'kid' who acted like a tyrant and threw his financial weight around. The whole 'Lil Danny moniker just stuck with him and makes him an easy target. There's also a HUGE jealousy factor in the media and from the fans because he's acquired so much at such a young age. To ignore or dispel that is completely ridiculous.
Of course the lack of success has been obvious and hasn't made it easy to defend him nor have some of the decisions he's played a role in but so many people who have worked with or for him (Gibbs, Schottenheimer, Buges just to name a couple) that are highly respected do nothing but shower the man with praise.
Bottom line, he's far from the best owner in the NFL but he's committed to exhausting all resources to win, has shown (at least to this point) a willingness to learn from his mistakes and try another path of running the team and is determined to make the Redskins the best franchise in the league.
Excellent points. I've always felt the same way. And ofcoarse if the Skins were in a smaller market I think his reputation would'nt be as bad.

I didn't want to start a new thread for this but, I wonder is Rooney a 'meddlesome owner' now too?
Art Rooney II tells Mike Tomlin 'We need to run the ball more.'
