Man look at how ugly these pro bowl jerseys were. Can't believe this was only 10 years ago. Who thought these were a good idea?

Jason Reid: Redskin Insider has reported the entire strength and conditioning staff has been let go.

I wonder if this is the play.. The Arizona Cardinals Must Re-Sign Strength & Conditioning Coach, John Lott - Revenge Of The Birds (http://www.revengeofthebirds.com/2010/1/23/1266676/the-arizona-cardinals-must-re-sign)

I think anyone will do a better job than Hixon did. Our younger guys struggle to run crisp routes and create separation. That's on their coach IMHO, especially when Kelly and Thomas both committed themselves to get significantly better. Both guys stepped up and committed to put in the time and effort. Hopefully McCardell can help them graduate to the next level.

I always wonder how much coaching really comes into play with recievers... not a perfect example, but when I was in HS and played Lacrosse, my coach never really spent much time with me. This was because I had above average physical ability and a good feel for the game. I was selected to 2 all conf teams in my junior and senior year from just learning what i could the first couple years I played and continued practice. Had he spent more time with me, would I have gotten better, I think so... but would it have been the difference from me going pro or just being a great HS player, I doubt it.

I think you have to place most of the blame directly on Thomas and Kelly for their rookie struggles. They clearly were not ready for the NFL mentally or physically speaking.

If a young rookie is not ready, then it is the WR coach's responsibility to identify that and get them ready. I am glad that the days of discussing Hixon's uselessness are finally behind us.

The McCardell hire seems a strange one to me.

As far as I can tell he has no coaching experience apart from the East-West game.

In England, to be a soccer coach you have to pass exams before you can take a job. Is it the same in football or can you just retire one day and take up coaching the next without any training?

To a degree yes, but a coach can't be with these guys 24/7. These 2 admitted to playing Mario Kart in their free time instead of studying their playbooks. At some point personal responsibility has to come in to play.
